Andrea and I invited Dean and Stephanie to experience the Village Chophouse last night. Our server, Calvin and Chef, Matt, made the dining experience fantastic. We always appreciate the food and service.

Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff; excellent food. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail was definitely jumbo and meaty, same with the entree crab cake. Just really quality food and service.

My wife and I dined here to celebrate her birthday. This was our first (and likely last) visit to The Village Chophouse. The first impression when walking through the front door here is more of café or diner style venue, definitely not a fine dining venue. Our reservation was for 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday. We completed our meal and were out the door before 6:30 p.m. Maybe not rushed, but not “leisurely”, either. Now for our dining experience. We were greeted by Tara, (who was also our server, sommelier, bus person, etc.) and promptly seated. Overall, Tara was very attentive, however, she was very soft spoken and very difficult to hear and understand everything she said. Tara brought us our water and then told us of the daily specials (including Prime Rib). She then began to list the menu items NOT available that day, including New England Clam Chowder (one of the main reasons we chose this restaurant)! I chose a wine and ordered a glass for each of us. We opted to share a Caesar Salad (in lieu of Clam Chowder) and ordered their Bread Service. The wine, salads and bread were brought to our table in short order. The Caesar Salad was good, but unremarkable. The bread was, in fact, very good. We then each ordered the Prime Rib for our entrée. It was a nice sized piece of meat, with tasty mashed potatoes and a nice vegetable medley (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots). The Prime Rib was served without au jus. When we asked about au jus, we were informed that they didn't offer that. Fortunately, the meat was juicy enough that it was very good without the au jus, but could have been great with a decent au jus. The meat was cooked perfectly, so kudos for that. At the end, we were asked if we wanted dessert. I asked for chocolate cake to share. I asked for two cups of coffee. We were told that they do not serve coffee! Cake with water it was. So disappointing. Not what I envisioned for my wife's birthday dinner. So, no clam chowder, au jus, or coffee spoiled a decent meal.

To be honest we can't review them as they were not open. Made reservations and they were confirmed. Yet when we arrived there was a sign saying they were closed for the night.

Service was great, atmosphere was pleasant. Calamari was fantastic, however we felt the entrees were average and overpriced. Not sure how long the restaurant has been open, they may improve with time.

The food was excellent. The service was average. There was an obnoxious, loud man sitting behind us over sharing and cussing which is not the restaurants fault but.....we will go back.

Calvin was very attentive as our server. Meals had a wonderful presentation and servings were generous. Probably the best French Onion soup I have ever tasted! The side of sautéed mushrooms complimented the meatloaf. We will be back!

Dinner was excellent. I had the porkchop and it was cooked to perfection! Started with the lobster bisque and, unfortunately, it was forgettable. Service and ambience were great.

Faux fine dining. If you love woefully under seasoned food and horrifically overcooked pork chops this is the place for you!! The meatloaf was just as bad. If we would have been at a casual dining spot the food and service might have been acceptable. But waiting an hour for bone dry pork and plain Jane meatloaf is sickening. Also, if you are going to brag about the "home made bread" it should be more than simple yeast rolls. In fact, you should probably just buy them frozen because they aren't any better than Rhode's rolls in the freezer section. In this town you need to up your game.

Our first time to the Chop House Restaurant and We really enjoyed the food! And Mario the server was exceptional! We were celebrating a birthday and he made it a very special occasion for us. Thank you

The service and ambience were good, but the food was well below the value charged. The ribeye was cooked properly but tasted like a choice cut from the grocery store. The mashed potatoes were barely mashed and certainly not whipped and lacked seasonings or butter and cream. The lobster bisque had chewy overcooked grilled lobster and lacked cream to balance the salty broth. For the money, I would not dine here again.

What a wonderful surprise. The restaurant is tucked away in a small mall area. The ambience is great. The service was wonderful, and the food was equally surprising. Would definitely revisit this place.

We had an amazing dining experience celebrating our 25th anniversary. The food, service, and atmosphere was really on point. Couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate.

Didn’t stay long enough to determine service or food but I can tell you I will not pay the prices asked for the table on the closet.
