I went in after finishing my delivery to get some grub. Local spots are a favorite of mine so I was pretty excited to try this out. I was there about 15 minutes before lunch started and I had my heart set on the Soupie's burger so I waited and looked around. The wall had some news articles about the couple who own and work there and I just love the story! The burger was nothing short of phenomenal! Sourdough was soft and thick and grilled nicely the mushrooms and onions and cheese made a crescendo in my mouth I demolished that burger after the 1st bite ? so good! And the service was great, bathroom clean and prices good.

Steak kabobs are very tasty. Healthy meal and great flavors. Good size portions as well. Service is quick and friendly.

It's hit and miss when they're open or closed! They're turnover rate for their employees is the highest I've ever seen with all kinds of excuses as they can't find people to work when what it really is is the way the owner talks to them. The food is good but they are really cheap in other ways. They don't put lids out for their cups because they don't want to encourage people taking a drink to go. They blame closing up due to staffing issues when the only staffing issues are as nobody really wants to work for the owners. They keep one bathroom completely closed saying that it's broke down but after a year everybody's figured out they just don't want to have to clean two bathrooms. They dont carry ranch dressing. Probably no profit in that... You Don't get any butter with your dry roll that you get when you order soup. Portions are small. I usually leave hungry. It is a huge disappointment to drive 60 miles round trip to find out that they just closed down due to staffing issues. We know most of your ex employees and we're getting a totally different story. We think if the owner just took a step back and let somebody else run the business then it would probably be way better. Their POS system is way too slow or their operator is one of the 2. The food is good but there is more to running a business than just good food. Personal problems are no excuse for rudeness either to the employees or 2 other people.. I have Personally seen the way he talks to his employees And it's in my opinion that he should not be running this type of business.

Since I had to be in Show Low...again!, I had lunch at What's Cooking...again! But, let me say, folks, that this was no chore! Pork Adovada with a healthy serving of white rice! Small "Ceasar" salad (with colorful and crispy tortilla strips on it), and tortillas (not Pita bread this time). As with my previous meal of Greek kabobs, the description is just: Wow! Soft, tender, tasty pork, with a niiiiice sauce in which it was braised. The menu states that it is a 'bit' spicy (could have been a bit more spicy) and the aroma! What did I say? The AROMA!! Amazingly wonderful! The sauce paired well with the rice. I also had to go and ask the two ladies at another table what they were eating: Thai noodle soup. Thin sliced beef in noodles with super looking broth, served in a good sized bowl! Another lady was enjoying a Fajita Bowl (grrr, I hope I got that right!) and it, too, looked great! She said she's never had a bad meal of anything she's eaten at What's Cooking! Oh, yeah, I'll have to stop in again next time I'm in SL! Now...what to eat next time? So many good things on the menu!

I have had soup, sandwiches and burgers here so far. Let me just say that everything here’s is some of the best food I’ve had on the White mountain! Loved the sourdough bread! The staff is kind and they always seem busy and doing their jobs amazingly!

The biscuits and gravy are the best. The food was fresh, an ample amount and just so tasty. Highly recommend.

Excellent, made from scratch breakfast. This is a great locally owned restaurant. They serve breakfast and lunch and everything is made fresh. My wife and I have enjoyed a few breakfast dates here. The owner is usually out talking with guests and making sure the food is satisfactory. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful place, pleasant staff, Katrina is such a nice lady?,soupie or whomever working there makes delicious biscuits- that’s a definite! Looks like they need help, if I wasn’t from out of town I would inquire a position.

Fantastic food. Everything is made fresh and the staff is super friendly. Easily one of the best places to eat in the White Mountains.

Had to be in Show Low most of the morning, so we wanted a good breakfast, so we tried What's Cooking based on reviews. My wife had the veggie omelet and I had the country breakfast. We were both extremely satisfied with our meals. The potatoes in particular were spectacular! There was a sign in the store stating that the service might be slow because of staffing issues, but we were more than satisfied with the level of service we received. If we find ourselves in Show Low again for breakfast or lunch, we will definitely come back here!

They are closed for personal reasons ? drove 45 minutes to try this place to find it closed. Thanks for updating your listing. Maybe I will try again and change my mind.

We were all so hungry and wanted to go to Darbis. The wait was ridiculous. We then tried Mr. Zeke's but they were closed. The Picnic Basket was packed. Desperate in Pinetop we started googling who was open and found that if we drove down to Show Low we could try What's Cooking. I told the kids to keep an open mind because they are creatures of habit. Ordering at the counter was not my favorite but the speed the food came out and the deliciousness made up for it! Both kids stated they wanted What's Cooking to be the new breakfast joint! Can't wait to try some of the lunch items. Will definitely be back again.
