The best BBQ I've ever had is from Avery's. I was always a fan of the brisket until the ribs stole my heart. I never knew that meat could literally melt in your mouth until I tried the half slab. Lance and Liz do a great job running the place, too

Waited 30 minutes for 4 people to order. I had 30 mins to stop for food, my clock ran out before I could even order. I understand it’s not fast food but 30 minutes just to order. Food is good but not good enough to wait 30 minutes to order and probably another 30 min to wait for it. If you’re on the clock go somewhere else if you have all day to wait at least an hour for food then this place is pretty good

Stopped for gas and found some of the best BBQ I’ve had in the Southwest! All three sauces were 👌 delicious, and the meat was tender and flavorful. The mac n’ cheese and coleslaw were clearly made with quality ingredients, in-house and did not disappoint. I won’t miss a stop at Avery’s next time I’m passing through. Bonus points for the condiment bar to customize your plate, and the staff were all happy, helpful, and quick.

I have no idea why you would go from wood fire to propane. I’m from NY and commended Gateway for having the best pizza on the mountain. Not the case anymore. Sad they took the upgrades and dialed them back. Oh well. Loved this place when it was gateway.

The only thing wrong about this place is its hidden in AZ 😆 Super great people serving some of the best BBQ I've had . I got the triple sampler brisket, pulled chicken and smoked sausage with cowboys beans and a side salad. Im looking forward to a return vist !

Best BBQ!!!! The brisket is awesome, love the green chili chicken Mac & cheese. Don't forget the sweet potato tots or the wood fired pizza :) and you must top it off with a brownie Ala mode YUM

First time coming here. The staff was friendly and was able to answer my questions regarding the menu. My friend and I got the family platter to share. Would definitely get the traditional and Hot BBQ sauces again. The Carolina BBQ sauce was good, but felt it took away from the meat flavor. Will be back 😁
