Great home cooking. Staples like chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy. Good old west feel.

We went for lunch and met at the door waitress said I’ll be with you shortly, Buss boy Wesley seated us and got our drinks. (Best part of the meal) after waiting 10
Minutes another waitress took our order, a taco salad and a chimichanga dinner. The salad was made with shredded lettuce “ the kind you put on a taco” beans cheese and hamburger. Not terrible. My wife had the chimichanga shredded beef rice and beans. The entire meal had a greasy taste toast to it. When we asked for more salsa the waitress was short and stated again I’ll be with you shortly. When we asked for extra napkins the waitress tossed them on the table. Our waitress definitely had an attitude, someone needs to give her some customer service training. We won’t be back.

This was a very nice and comfortable experience. It has a small town feel, but also a touch of elegance. The staff are all extremely friendly amd accommodating. From my experience, I thought the food great! A nice little treat in a wonderful little town. 100% recommend.

Dinner at Safire Restaurant and Lounge, now part of the Econolodge in Springerville. Nice dining room with good food, a helpful and friendly wait staff, and lots of menu choices. There is plenty of parking in the attached Econolodge lot, with marked wheelchair places. There is outside dining, [where dogs are allowed] and an inside bar. John Wayne owned the nearby 26 Bar Ranch and has eaten there. The restrooms were clean and properly serviced. We had the Turkey Club Sandwich and the Mushroom and Swiss Burger. Both came standard with fries, but there were other upcharge choices. The food was served hot if it was supposed to be and service was timely. Two ate for $30. Safire is open from 7-9, seven days a week, and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is live music, and a salad bar

I have breakfast here every chance I can. The Huevos rancheros is excellent! Choice of red or green sauce, flour or corn tortillas and eggs any way you would like. A MUST TRY for any breakfast lover.

My wife, kids and I were on a trip from Oklahoma to San Diego in 2014. Someone told us to include Globe as a via on the trip. We got off of I-40 just east of Grant's New Mexico to site see in the El-Malpais monument. We decided to exit out the south end and meander to Hwy 60. We arrived in Springerville at dusk. We decided to stop at the Safire Cafe. We like local over Big Box eateries. While reading over the menus I noted all the pictures of John Wayne on the walls. The back of the menu told how this was the place he brought his ranch hands to eat lunch quite often when he was working on his ranch near by.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and what I recall as a good meal. I will return should I travel to the southwest coast again.

Food was good, service was good. The wait was a while, but there are signs to warn that the food is fresh made & takes a bit to fix.

We have been passing this place on our way to NM for the last 28 years and I finally decided that we would try Safire. I had chicken fried steak it was really great, not all breading and a little meat like a lot of places. My wife had the beef burro with green sauce and she said it was really tasty. We now have a new place to stop in Springerville!
