Went for the Friday night buffet. Very disappointed. Fish was ok, but bland. Shrimp was overcooked and tough. Crab legs were soft and rubbery, no flavor. Only condiment offered was melted butter, but it tasted like oil. No seafood or tartar sauce offered. Found out later as we were leaving, those condiments were on the salad bar in another room. The Whiskey Sunrise cocktail was good and well crafted
Good food great service.
Food was soggy and cold. Gave me one salsa when I clearly ordered for 2 people
Loved the biscuits and gravy and a very short wait.
Wife and I stayed at the motel next door last nite. Ordered a sample plate to take back to the room to eat,it was very reasonably priced with good amount. Ate breakfast there this morning,it too was very good a reasonably price with good service. Highly recommend this place!!
We eat breakfast there Sunday mornings, Saudy is great
Saudy was our waitress, she was very nice and attentive to our groups needs...
Nice restaurant with a variety of different dishes. They also have a small bar with a big tv. Service here was good and the food was also good. It was not till after we left the restaurant we learned that John Wayne was a regular at this restaurant. He ordered breakfast in the booth next to where we sat.. and we didn’t even know it. Either way good food and this restaurant has an even greater history.
It can sometimes be hard to find a decent restaurant in a small town. Safire is good enough to be in a big city. The menu consists of a wide variety of Mexican and American dishes, including a few cross-overs. Quality of the food is high. I had the strip steak with a loaded baked potato and salad. The salad bar is fresh and has a nice variety; they could maybe add olives, radishes, and bell peppers, but it had all the basics. The steak was excellent, done perfectly the way I ordered and served hot, along with a loaded baked potato so hot the cheese had melted. The service was top notch. Everyone was friendly, conscientious, and acted like they actually wanted to be there. One thing not big city about it is the prices. I expected to pay at least 50% more given the quality of the food. A lot of locals appear to patronize this restaurant, and that is always a good sign. Back in the day, John Wayne owned a ranch near Springerville and he ate at Safire according to signs in the restaurant. The Duke made a good choice.
Order the San Juan tacos!

Clean establishment (especially the bathroom).
Friendly and attentive staff. Food was good too.
Excellent food with friendly, efficient service. Best Taco Salad anywhere!
Tonight was the first time we've visited. Everything was great. The service was wonderful, the food was very, very delicious and plentiful portions! I brought some of my chimichanga home. They have some of the best guacamole I've had! My husband loved his fajitas. My daughter said her French Dip was really good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and laid back.
Wish it was more kid friendly, food was just plain. Nothing fancy. Pricey for the food you’re getting.
Small town restaurant, fairly clean and good order. We made the mistake of trying their seafood buffet. Everything was dried out and not at all tasty. We should have known better since it was within an hour of closing time. Sorry but I cannot recommend their buffet.
