The empanadas were decent. Prices seemed good until you see how small they are.

The line was very long and took about 30 minutes to get through. Immediately after I got my food I realized I forgot my drink and asked if I could pay for that real quick. The employee working the cash register said that if I wanted a drink I’d have to wait in line again.

Understandable but with a 30 minute wait this seemed like very poor customer service.

Delicious empanadas! Rivals those I’ve had in Argentina. My only complaint is that the savory pies are very salty. Chicken pot pie is a fave but too much salt.

Good food but it took about 30 minutes in line to be able to place my order.

The Empanadas were delicious! The Green Chili Pork and Picadillo Beef were delicious, and the Key Lime and Caramel Apple were amazing. The staff was incredibly sweet. I would definitely recommend.

When in Strawberry, go to PIEbar. Great little place on the side of the road. Fast and friendly service! Amazing selection of empanadas, both sweet and savory. Must go! Try the Picadillo and green chili pork. The spicy Chimachuri is wonderful, but spicy!

We truly enjoyed each empanada we got from the PIEbar. It’s one of our new favorite spots! Empanadas we enjoyed: chicken pot pie, strawberries and cream, cherry, apple dulce de leche, both breakfast empanadas, and chorizo and bean. Each packed with their own flavor and the perfect size. We each enjoyed 2 full empanadas each visit and it was plenty for a portion. The staff is so friendly and welcoming as well.

Excellent choice for breaks, lunch or dinner! Maybe a little snack! So good. We had the pork chili verde with spicy chimichurri and the chorizo bean with cilantro sauce. The empanada crust is buttery and flakey. I’ve I lived close they would be a staple. A must visit when passing through Strawberry, AZ.

This place has been on our “must try” list for a couple years now after seeing it posted on Instagram. We regularly frequent the Payson area but never been. Finally made it this past weekend and it was good but underwhelming. We had to wait a good 30 minutes to order since it was fairly busy although the line did move. We tried several of the Savory (pot pie and Philly cheesesteak) and Sweet (apple, strawberries and cream, and the Panda) empanadas. Each were good but the portion to cost ratio is a bit high for these things. At $5-$6 dollars each, it does add up. Again not terrible but I feel this place is more of a novelty, touristy-type place given their popularity on social media, which was something we were concerned about.

I don’t think we will visit again unless we have to need to visit Strawberry but it is worth to go once just to say you did. I feel that influencers do great for businesses but the realistic expectations from experiencing the place can kill the originality and traditions of what these places held before.
