Don is the nicest guy. And the rice and tacos are my favorite. The rice is also so good and fluffy. I haven’t been able to go recently and looked it up to go to but closed on sundays🥺. But will be back soon!

Absolutely amazing, the service is amazing he is such a sweet guy. The beans and rice are to die for, and the carne asada tacos were spot on perfect. Amazing people and a wonderful spot everyone should try. 🙌
Even day after, reheated, still the best tacos ive had in a fat minute. Best beans and rice, best dude working there 🙌🫶🏼

September 30, 2025 Run away as fast as you can. Do not eat here. Dirty, unfriendly, and the food was inedible. Man working the counter is the same man who brought the food out. Acted as if he was doing everyone a favor. Didn't even say hello, kiss my a$$... nothing. Food was cold and unrecognizable. What a waste. Couldn't even eat what was served. Now I know why they make you pay at the counter in advance. When I asked for refund, they refused even though no one could eat the food. Just bad. No other customers were there the entire time we were there. I have no idea how it stays in business. Place is probably a money laundering scam.

Great food, sauces are fresh and tasty, tortillas seem homemade. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We tried the burrito and fajita quesadilla with pollo - all incredible. Visiting from Australia and this is the best local restaurant we tried. Highly recommend getting the churro with caramel inside, that was a delight.

I searched for a burrito place while I was in this part of Phoenix. Glad I stopped at Don Jose's!
Met the proprietor, very nice gentleman. Extremely helpful. Ambiance is great, food as well! A little dirty (where it doesn't matter), but I'm ok with that. Lots of pickup orders while I sat and ate.
Got a sausage burrito with cheese, extra egg and pico, etc. Very good! Red sauce wasn't nearly as spicy as I hoped. Still good though.
I'll be back.

It’s 4.7 to 5 stars for me. Ambience could take it up to a real 5 star including a dining room refresh and deep clean as it is dusty and dirty in some little parts. The carne asada torta was so good we got a second one. The cashier was friendly and helpful.
the chicken taco was just ok maybe a bad choice from me. Green salsa was really good. Red salsa above average. They have a single tv and lots of decorations just like Mexico. I would return and get the carne asada again for sure. And a dash of salt maybe.
