I've been to all the other Mexican food restaurants in the area. I decided to try this place for the first time because of the great things I've read about Don Jose's. I also hold a warm place in my heart for small family owned business's. As soon as I walked in the place, I felt the most comfortable atmosphere. Decorated beautifully. I was welcomed by the most humble man behind the counter. He was very patient with me taking my order. I didn't know how extensive their menu was, and didn't think to look at beforehand! After giving him my order, he even threw in a desert snack for me! I soon after saw a pin behind the counter that resembled his dedicated time of service to our country. I put two and two together and realized this was America's best-- running this restaurant. The cheese enchiladas were like the ones I remember having in Guadalajara. The cheese is delicious with the perfect spicy/ tangy red sauce. The Chile relleno was out of this world & the batter around the chili was so much more flavorful and better textured than the ones I've been used to. This is absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the valley at this time. Of course it had to be the last place I tried

Ordered shredded beef taco, cheese enchilada and beans. Beef had no flavor, cheese enchilada was cold and the beans were so watered down needed a spoon to keep beans from going through the fork. No flavor to the red enchilada sauce.

I took the wife and our granddaughter for lunch here because about two years before I met her I ate here while doing temporary work,let me say the food is a terrific value compared to what most people would say is comparable to filiberto Don Jose's has large portions that are very tasty worth the drive from our central PHX location by the way the wife and I have been together for 11 years now going on 12 to sum up quality, great service, comfortable atmosphere highly recommend
