Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

I don’t know what drugs the people were on at this location tonight, but I’ve never experienced worse service from a cafe rio before. My boyfriend ordered a steak salad for me, a kids quesadilla meal, and a bowl for himself. They took their sweet time cleaning, horsing around, chitchatting, before even starting to make the food. We waited almost 30 minutes for them to make a take out order. They forgot the kids drink and acted confused when my boyfriend asked for it. They were out of horchata, and chose to water down the one they gave us. My boyfriend’s meal and my son’s meal were good. But imagine my surprise when I opened my steak salad and all it had on the cold brittle wheat tortilla was a scoop of rice, beans, meat, and a large handful of lettuce. No cheese, no pico, no guacamole, no tortilla strips. The man who made the salad asked my boyfriend whether we wanted shredded or chopped lettuce on the salad, yet no mention of toppings. Maybe it was his first time making the salad? Train your employees better, tell them to get off their phones, and actually make the food people order! I don’t even want to eat this, it’s nothing like what I usually get, I’m extremely disappointed. Never going back to this location, I’ve never had this problem with other locations. If you go here, ALWAYS check your order before you leave.

This is the worst location. I live 2 minutes one-way from this location and every time i make it home with the food, it’s not hot, barely any sauce and meat with a lot of lettuce. It’s somehow bland too.

I travel 15 minutes one-way to the one off Litchfield and Waddell, and when I make it home it’s still pretty warm with everything that I ordered.

My husband has been sick since 10 pm last night with food poisoning. It was our first time ordering here, and I ordered a salad while he ordered a tosta. Im fine so far (fingers crossed) but my poor husband is so, so sick. First and last time we ever come to this location.

Portion size was amazing for my bowl, I couldn’t even finish it. Whole meal was around 11$ 10/10

We ordered catering for 10 ppl for the graduation party. We got taco package and an additional tray of enchiladas. Everything tasted great! Our guest were amazed at the food quality.
All food was packaged in boxes which was very convenient to transport. The attention to details was amazing: plastic cutlery and plates were included, tongs for tacos and salad, napkins. Serving our guests was super easy! Thank you, Esmeralda and staff♥️

When ordering through DD or Uber, prices are elevated. So there's the higher pricing, delivery fee, and tip. So a meal could sometimes run you upward toward $30+ -- and there are those days when it is so helpful and convenient to order while at work when I can't get away for lunch. With that said, with how outrageously expensive it is to order through an app -- orders should be double and triple checked. It is so incredibly frustrating to pay so much for something, just for it be wrong and missing items, when the receipt IS TAPED to the bag itself with what SHOULD be there.. It's situations like this that birth "Karens" cuz my God "that makes me wanna kick a fat kid in Kmart you know what I'm sayin". So In true "Karen" fashion, my closing comment will be, check the order/items.... its not. that. hard.

We had to wait to find out they were unable to give give a refund for a dessert item they didn’t have, that we ordered from a computer screen in the lobby.
Would not come to this location

Update: got home and the minced chicken is barely tastable. This place is downhill chipotle 2.0 only months after introducing this new menu

I love Cafe Rio but never going back to this location again!
I figured I’ll do quick taco Tuesday dinner. I thought wrong with the “quick” part, I should have just cooked at home. They were moving very slowly. It took 20minutes to get my order and, when I did get the order, there were so many missing toppings on the tacs. I got flour tortillas yet they were over cooked and crunchy, 90% of the tacos were just shredded lettuce so I had to dig deep to find a small pinch of meat. ( the picture was after I removed the lettuce to show the meat)
I ordered 2 sides of rice and they had absolutely NO flavor and SO dry, one of the container looked like someone scooped a bite out of it.
Hot salsa looked slimy too.
I should have walked out when I saw the aftermath of left over sheet cake just left alone in the corner of the table, as if the staffs were eating off of it and didn’t clean up.
My family was upset how I even paid for those, well I didn’t know until I got home.
I’ll be driving extra 5 minute to the other Cafe Rio from now on.
