Im an Illinois native so I’ve been going to Portillo’s for years. My favorite thing to get is an Italian beef, extra dry with mozzarella cheese. I’ve eaten at this location about 5 times since they’ve been open. Every time has been perfect, restaurant was clean and food was good. Today everything was perfect except they put my mozzarella cheese on top of my meat instead of toasted in the bun, under the meat. Not a deal breaker, mainly preference. Had to call 5 times to get thu the automatic robot. Whoever was nice and said he’d let them not. I wasn’t looking for free food or anything like that. Just want to make sure they know how to make an Italian beef the right way, Chicago way.

I’ve been to other Portillo‘s and for some reason the one in Surprise puts way too much salt on their fries.

The service is always good, nice clean fast food restaurant. The spicy chicken sandwich is delicious but OMG the fries at his location are awful. I’ve given it multiple tries now and they are always brown and old. It’s like they take old leftover fries and refry them or something. I’ve had other Portillo’s locations and they are always fresh, golden, and delicious, but something about this location that they just can’t get it right. So disappointing and a waste of money.

The ice tea tastes terrible, and now they charge extra for peppers. Shouldn't an Italian beef just come with peppers..there is nothing else on the sandwich. Resturant was really clean and staff friendly.

The only reason why I give it 3 stars is that they don't serve ribs, which they serve at portillos in Chicago (I used to work at one). Otherwise, the food is awesome, and for a fun fact, they use mayo in the chocolate cake. Also, if you get an Italian beef, baptize that thang.

Service was above and beyond expectations. Food was good as always. Just wish they had more hotdog options.

Always great food no matter what you order, best fries in the world haha chili dogs have that great snap when you bite into them and the Italian sandwiches are addicting with that flavorful meat and Au juice.

Wanted a beef sandwich have a try and wished I had of went elsewhere! The sandwich was over steamed dripping wet and just not that good. Hardly any peppers or cheese I paid extra for. Fries cooked in old oil they smelled bad. Never again and the price for 2 meals $34 and change .. insanity for sure! Drive on by!!

Price was good. We got chocolate cake. It was yummy! $3.99 for a large slice. The icing was rich but delicious 😋!

This would be a one star if it weren't that the food was good...
The young lady working at the register/order taking made us feel very rushed and was very rude. I almost didn't eat at this location at all just because of her. First impressions are everything and if this is what your greeted with...... Good luck

Chicago dogs were very disappointing, they were small, not the chicago dogs I remember, thinking they were sitting for a while under the warmer too. We order for a large group, and all of us were extremely disappointed!
