Really great sushi and wonderful service. Every time we have visited, we have been served by Jeremy—one of the nicest and most attentive servers. Love the albacore tataki roll, but they have all been excellent.
After moving to this area from Chandler area over a year ago, we knew we had to find a new sushi place. After an exhausting two weeks and seven different sushi restaurants we finally found ugly tuna. JB, Park, Sobey are the three sushi chefs and each one brings a unique angle to sushi. I have been eating sushi since living in Tokyo in the early 80s and this place is simply amazing.. we visit Ugly Tuna once a week to get our fix and they always take care of us. Ugly tuna is amazing....
Food and service were great. They have a happy hour from 4:30-7pm with a huge selection of rolls starting at $4 and cheaper appetizers and some beers. Loved the tonkatsu ramen which was very flavorful. Other standouts included the spicy edamame, poke bowl, and tempura California roll. The shishito peppers were my favorite. Would definitely recommend if you’re craving Japanese food in the west valley. Employees were also extremely courteous and helpful.
