Usually stop there on the way to town. Or coming home.
I cannot express how great this business is. 18 of us from ages 2 to 68 met for dinner. We had a common friend but our family was able to meet her family for the first time and they got to meet us. The wait staff was exceptional, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcome. One note of caution-the Navajo Burger is a two person feast-be sure you come hungry-all servings are large and the fry bread is heavenly.
Restroom is currently closed, as is the restroom at the cafe next door. Very inconvenient when this is the only stop for miles in either direction, and a primary reason for stopping here.
It's a good place to buy smoke and a quick shopping trip
Truly a gem in the middle of nowhere
Its a best stopover food place while driving on this no man land. We had chicken wings and sandwich was really yummy
Great little spot to stop for us truckers. Easy on and off the highway. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. The food in the restaurant was fair priced and pretty good.
The food was really good! People in the restaurant were very friendly
We waited over an hour for food and when we got it the bacon was undercooked and we got food poisoning from it
We stopped for to fill up on gas & ourselves- lunch! It’s exactly as you would expect a small diner type restaurant off the highway in NE Arizona as you travel. Nothing else there, except a shady covered picnic area between the gas station & restaurant & a very green Sinclair dinosaur. I had the Navajo taco & it was perfect, my husband had the chili, definitely not your traditional chili, more like seasoned, cooked pinto beans with fry bread & he loved it.Only a few customers, service was prompt & waiter very friendly & the coffee was very good! My soul & body were satisfied.

If you want the a 3 Michelin Star experience then go to New York or Los Angeles. But if you want a good meal with good portions at a great price then go to the Mexican Water restaurant. Home style Rez cooking. Delicious!
Didn't actually fill up gas or stop by here because when we pulled into the parking lot, there was an RV and an attached pickup truck both with their windows smashed in and the RV was on fire. No clue what happened.

THE NAVAJO INDIANS AT THE Mexican Water Trading Post ARE GREAT!! THEY SAVED MY THANKSGIVING BY HELPING US GET OUR RV TIRE FIXED. THE INDIAN, AFTER HE GOT OFF WORK AT THE Mexican Water Trading Post, TOOK OUR FLAT TIRE OFF THE WHEEL AND MOUNTED OUR GOOD TIRE BACK ON THE WHEEL, ALL BY HAND. THAT'S A KNUCKLE BUSTING TASK AND IMPOSSIBLE FOR 90% OF ALL PEOPLE. THE TOLERATED US CONSTANTLY ASKING TO USE THEIR LANDLINE PHONE DUE TO NO CELL PHONE SIGNAL THERE.
