I showed up today ready to place an order, and the first thing I was told was they were sold out of potatoes, sold out of french fries—basically sold out of most of the menu. I’ve never seen anything like this from a franchise the size of Dickey’s. Honestly, it felt more like they didn’t want to work than that they were truly out of stock. I highly doubt the shortages were real. One star.

I feel like it’s my civil duty to warn people that they don’t turn on the AC in the summers here. It was 85 inside with no air flow, stuffy and humid.

Ordered online. They told me at PICKUP that there was no more brisket. What a waste of time!

The cashier was kind. First I ordered chicken sandwich and they said they had no chicken to make it. So I ordered a brisket sandwich combo. I saw on the menu it said get it “Texas Size for $2.50”. So I got it Texas sized. The total was $25.34, which seemed expensive, so I got a receipt. The receipt showed the Texas Size up charge was $7.99. I asked the cashier why it was so much so she grabbed the cook in the back. The cook said that is the price, to which I referred to the menu screen which said $2.50. She said that’s not right and that corporate changed the price but hasn’t updated the menu. So I told her I didn’t want the Texas Size and asked to refund the money. She said they can’t refund the money. I asked if she could void the last transaction start a new one and she plainly said she can’t do that. So I said ok and went to my table. I waited for the food and when the sandwich came out the meat was lukewarm and very bland. This may have been one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any restaurant. I can’t say this will be the last time I’ll ever go to a Dickeys but it certainly the last time I will ever visit the one in Tolleson. Hopefully the customer service and food quality is better at other locations. For the price I paid, I would expect more.

⚠️ WARNING: Terrible Service, Disappointing Food — Avoid This Place! ⚠️

I will never spend another dollar at this restaurant, and I'm writing this review to help others avoid the same frustrating and disappointing experience.

I placed an order online, only to receive a call afterward informing me that two items — the potato salad and chili — were unavailable. That’s understandable; things run out. But when I asked for a refund for those items, I was told it would take 3–5 business days and was pressured instead to pick something else. The tone and attitude I received just for asking what my options were felt completely unprofessional — the staff member even became verbally irritated when I asked for clarification on what was available.

When I arrived, I was told my order would take a few minutes, which was fine — I get that places get busy. But the experience quickly went downhill. I grabbed my drinks only to find there were no lids. When I asked, I was dismissively told, “they’re the circle things over there.” I sarcastically responded, “Do you have any more circle things?” and was met with more attitude. Though he refilled them, he abruptly walked away and said there you go. At this point, I learned they were also out of straws. I didn't even ask, and just left.

The food itself? Completely underwhelming. It was cold, lacked any real flavor, and the brisket — which should have had rich, smoky notes — tasted bland and lifeless. The sides were no better. The okra was unpleasant and tasted off. I felt physically unwell afterward.

To top it all off, this place asks for a tip before you even receive your food or any service. I still tipped 20% at checkout, thinking it would go toward quality and care — but the service was poor, and the food was worse. It felt like I was being taken advantage of from start to finish.

I do not want to be contacted by the owner or staff. What I want is for people to read this and know exactly what to expect: long waits, poor attitude, missing items, bad food, and zero accountability. If the owner cares at all about their business, they need to take responsibility for the dysfunction here. Until then...Eat at Dickey’s at your own risk. You’ve been warned.

My team paid for a catering order for 35-40 people and only received enough food to feed 10 people. The manager made no effort to correct the error. Very disappointing. First and last time ordering from here.

Got a pickup order at dickeys and when I arrived the place was empty went to get my order and it was ready but the bag felt light (Always check) I immediately found out my order was wrong...I wanted the brisket chilli cheese fries and he told me they didn't have the chilli for it so they gave me some old greasy fries that looked like they had been there since last week. I asked if there was a substitute n which he gave me a small portion mac and cheese ...normally I don't even care about reviews but the fact that they knew my order was incorrect tried to pawn it off like it was nothing doesn't sit right with me. Come in at 8:20pm and was refused service. Employees had chairs up on tables and were cleaning the kitchen. Restaurant doesn’t close till 9pm! Came in with over 30min before closing and was refused service. If I was the franchise owner I would be furious and absolutely clean house and get new staff that are interested in working and try and make money.

I used to visit Dickey's in general, not this location, first time here, and there are so many changes. Not being able to serve myself a variety of BBQ sauces was disappointing. At least I still got my Big Yellow Cup!
Anyway, there were flies all over the dining room, making it fairly problematic to eat in house. We had to bail early, or we were going to burn down the restaurant to spite the fly.
Dissecting my meal, I think I paid about 7 bucks for half a potatoes worth of fries, that tasted great, but it was a small portion.
If I had to think of where I want to spend 20 bucks next, I'll probably go elsewhere. I think there's effort here, but I don't these stores lasting too much longer. Dinner rush on a Tuesday, 7 guests in about an hour.
Good luck!

Amazing customer service, I accidently placed my order at the wrong location and they went out of their way to help me sort out the problem and made my food to perfection. This my third time ordering from this location and they are very friendly and fast with orders. Love this location will definitely be visiting again 🥰
