The Rattler at del Lago

Looking to retire in the vail area, saw a nice house a few blocks away from clubhouse/ restaurant, checked out rattler website menu. I need to say, you should have paid for a professional photographer. reading reviews, It seems like mgmt. needs to do some training for servers. cooks/chiefs, here's a tip, presentation is 70% of it. if it looks good, it's probably going to taste good. if it doesn't, well you know. Also, use fresh food. if you use fresh over frozen (burger patties) you can charge more $, it's not rocket science.

I was looking for a place to host about 40 friends and family for a surprise birthday party for my wife. I stopped in to Hacienda del Lago just to check if they had room. I began working with April and Asher and was amazed at the level of support and assistance they provided. We had a wonderful experience. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The entire experience was above and beyond. The venue is A+ and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a very personal gathering environment with caring staff and management. Thank you April, Asher, and staff!!

AWESOME SERVICE AND FOOD! We've been going to The Rattler (a.k.a. Hacienda Del Lago) for the past 10 years and have been through it's ups and downs. I have gotta say, the new management has hands down turned this place around for the better. The food has been amazing the past few times, service is swift and friendly, and all around fantastic. Tonight's special was 🦞 ravioli and baby back ribs, both phenomenal. The creme brule is incredible. Shout out to the staff working tonight!!! Thanks for an incredible experience and making us happy to return again!

I went here for breakfast a few days ago. The staff was attentive and had a good sense of humor.

The food I ordered was lackluster. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with sunny side up eggs. The eggs were perfect. The biscuits and gravy was a disappointment. The white gravy was rather bland, no real flavor to speak of. Also surprisingly, there were no sausage chunks in the gravy. The biscuits tasted stale/overcooked. They snapped and crumbled apart. All in all I was wholly underwhelmed.

I stopped in the other day and spoke with April about delivering a meal to a friend and her family for a special occasion. The new chef at The Rattler at Del Lago had not done that in the past, but April was happy make it work for me. She took my order and ensured me the food would be delivered at the specified time the next day.

My friend texted me that the food was delivered as planned and at the right temperature. I had a selected few different entrees and two appetizers. She said all of it was perfectly cooked and delicious! Thank you April and your staff for coming thru for me! I can't wait to come in and try out the restaurant myself and probably write another great review. Good to know that you were able to deliver such a wonderful meal for a very special family! THANK YOU!

Restaurant at Hacienda del Lago!
Under new management, this open to the public golf course restaurant (no longer called The Rattler) has become a hidden gem! The extensive menu offers something for everyone, with each dish prepared to perfection. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual bite or a more refined meal, the kitchen delivers. Service is top-notch, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. No need to drive into town for fine dining anymore—this spot is now a must-visit for both golfers and locals alike. Highly recommend!

I’ve been sitting here about 30 minutes so far outside listening to the band waiting for a waitress. She’s waited on several tables around us, but never even looked our way and never made eye contact. There were only six tables in this area so it’s not like it was overcrowded and she didn’t see us.

So the music is good (Johnny & Jack) but I guess I won’t be able to rate the food.

Gotta go, my wife finally walked inside to the bar and got us two waters.

UPDATE:
After exactly 1 hour a fellow came up to us, appeared to be some sort of a manager and ask if we needed anything. I said “you’re the first one that’s talked to us since we’ve been here”. He seemed quite concerned and was quite apologetic. He wanted to buy us drinks and comp us an appetizer. We took him up on the appetizer and it was just OK.

Maybe it’s just a bad night for the waitresses. I’m not sure, they were not at all cognizant of our presence for some reason. In my mind if one of them had to come over after him and ask if we needed anything, I was going to ask them for new batteries for my cloaking device because now it appears that it’s not working (Since she obviously saw us). But I didn’t say anything because nobody ever came over after him not even one waitress.

Hope it’s a isolated incident. Y’all have a good time when you go there. The music was great. Two person country band called Johnny and Jack. I think they may play there the second Friday of every month. I need to verify that because I think we would go back just to hear them. And if I go back I will leave my cloaking device at home. Haha

Just have to say for the price, maybe a salad.
The bread sticks were awful and burnt when I asked for a few more!
Server was good, but came to our table so much.
For the price I would like atleast 3 stars.
I won't be back.

The restaurant is unchanged despite renovations. The carpets are still dirty. The tables and chairs are still old and rickety. The menu looks different, but it's still the same food listed. Which may be good, but I don't know because after 30 minutes we got tired of waiting to even order. The waitresses were too busy behind the bar talking to take care of their customers. There were only 3 tables seated, but no one was getting service. We got up and walked out and they never noticed. We won't be back.

Great re-opening! Breakfast was delicious. Our server Will was super nice and attentive, providing excellent service. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
