Desert Penguin Bar & Grill

After riding SXS's all morning, we were anticipating the same menu we looked at online the night before. Once we arrived, we were told that the online menu was not the current menu. Turns out it's just bar food and fried crap. The Philly steak sandwich was nothing but hamburger meat with cheese and peppers. Not impressed. Don't advertise a menu that you don't intend to offer. Do better.

Clean bar with friendly, helpful staff! Drinks and service were quick. Great place to stop for a drink after golf.

I have known several people over the last 4 years who worked in the kitchen. They all quit for the same reason. The kitchen is dirty. The drain in the floor is so full of grease that it backs up to the point that the dishwasher can not work.
They are understaffed, underpaid, and overworked.

Nice to have a local saloon back, but for me they've missed the boat a little bit with pricier beer and food and not the usual specials you might expect from this type place.

I love to go there the shame of it all is like all the other restaurants here, as we live here full time we pay by higher prices in the summer. Or they shut down like full timers don't count.... my group and I will be not going out in the summer in Wellton.

After coming to this area for 7 years, we finally tried Desert Penguin twice in the last week. Nice atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Decent prices.The burger was one of the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly. Amazing beef.

Their kitchen closes at 6pm. What sort of dinner restaurant doesn't serve dinner?

9 pm on a Saturday night and they have no food.

The Cesar salad with grilled chicken was an extremely pleasant surprise out here in Wellton. My girlfriend got the BLT and enjoyed. Popcorn shrimp were fried perfectly! Fries accompanied by their ranch were also tasty! Will be coming back. Thank you Yami for the awesome service???
