I recently dined here during a stay at the hotel with a train package deal. I went in without expecting a five-star buffet — I understand that the main attraction here is the train experience — but I did expect a bit more variety for the price.

For dinner, the buffet only offered three main protein options: brisket-style meat (while it lasted), BBQ chicken, and fish. There were also chicken nuggets and French fries available. For around $30 per person, the selection felt pretty limited. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t feel like good value.

That said, the pasta station honestly saves the buffet. The chef working that station was nonstop, making fresh pasta dishes consistently and keeping things moving. If it weren’t for him, the dinner experience would feel even more underwhelming. Nice and friendly guy too. Give him a raise!

If I may offer a suggestion: if food costs are the issue, there are affordable ways to expand the selection. Simple additions like ground beef with potatoes, beef stew, chicken fajitas, or even chicken fried rice would go a long way in making the buffet feel more complete without dramatically increasing expenses.

I can understand why some guests might leave disappointed at this price point. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet seemed to have a better overall balance and felt more satisfying.

Overall, not a bad experience — just underwhelming for the cost.

We came here for dinner after riding the train and was hoping for a good dinner. Boy were we wrong. The worst food we ever ate. Eat at your risk. Very expensive as well and not worth the price.

Had breakfast here before the train ride. There was plenty of choices in the buffet.

Immediately after I got back to my hotel room I did vomit. I am Australian so maybe to an American this food was good but it wasn’t great. Our waiter though, he was 5/5 service.

Do not eat here! What a total rip-off. I am 100% sure this place takes full advantage of people due to the convenience factor. The vegitables and fruit were all canned, the meat portions were TINY and everything was bland. The price for kids was way too high as well. The only redeeming factor was the service. Our waiter was very pleasant.

The food was decent for a buffet but good god it gets busy here and the staff can not keep up. If you are doing a train ride with free dinner, be prepared for a very long wait to get into the restaurant and an even longer wait for your server to acknowledge your existence. By 7:30 pm the restaurant was trashed, food and garbage all over the floor, no dinner plates for the buffet and the women's bathroom was disgusting with clogged sink and only one working sink.

Food tasted ok but only 3 protein options, Turkey, fish fillet and beef. The beef was good but the lady slicing it literally only gives you 2 bite sized pieces. I had to ask Her for more 3 times and my serving was still too small for one person. Not a fun experience when you have to beg someone to give you the food you already paid for.

If you are a single parent with small.kids, don't even bother here. It will be impossible to get food and watch kids at the same time.

Breakfast was slightly better experience but overall just avoid if you can.

Overall great experience, food was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Food had a variety of options. It got a little confusing after the polar express experience not knowing how the buffet lines work, especially with the long line.

Pasta station guy high as a kite… stirring the food with his hand. Terrain was outstanding as our waitress. It wasn’t snowing. Food was warm and good overall. Dessert = plus. Not enough people with Christmas pjs on.

We were seated and not given any direction. Sat there for 10 minutes with nobody to take our drink orders. My husband finally found the plates so our hungry toddlers could eat something. Still no drinks! Finally, a nearby waitress reminded another waitress that we were in her area. She apologized profusely but we were nearly finished eating by the time we even got our drinks. The food was decent but the service was a letdown.

Food was good. The service was a bit rude. The ground and surfaces were disgusting and nobody was making an effort to clean. The servers were quick to get your drinks and anything else out quick and refills. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place.

I am not sure how people are saying it was amazing. Its way overpriced for what was offered. Arrived 7:30 p.m and they were out of food, out of plates, food they did have was cold, and had 3 different staff swap out cutting the same prime rib because knives were not sharp enough. So didnt know how to cut the meat and didnt have correct knives to cut it so they were sawing it like a piece of wood. Meat was cold. Its the worst buffet I have ever been too. I would not recommend coming for dinner to anyone that comes into town for Polar Express. Huge disappointment and I would go somewhere else.

Horrible experience! Wasted $175. Buffet was literally out of plates and most foods (salad, rolls, mashed potatoes) and the food that was there was cold. Long lines, no drink refills, lack of options for kids. Disappointing ending to such a great day on the train.
