My husband and I were passing by Winslow. I saw this place offered menudo and was sold. As of this writing their online ordering system might be a little finnicky. Our payment went thru but they didn't get the order and were very kind and apologetic about it by the time we swung by to pick it up (s'all good accidents happen, even with online systems).

While waiting for the order they offered us chips, salsa and drinks on the house. I didn't think I'd eat those chips so quickly but the salsa was so good.

Later we got our food and goodness we were blown away. The menudo hit the spot, my husband said the enchiladas were the best he's ever had, and it was our first time enjoying fresh sopapillas. Legit one of our favorite breads now. I can see why this place is a gem with its great food and kind staff.

If we lived nearby we would frequent this place regularly.

I’ve heard so many great comments about this restaurant and it did not disappoint! I had an omelet burrito and fries, so tasty and filling! I also got to taste the carne asada fries and refried beans from other plates and they were both so good. I loved reading about the history of the restaurant on the menu, it made eating here even more special 💕

An inexpensive place for a good breakfast. Two for one breakfast special. The place is old & tired but the owner was so friendly. She made everyone feel at home

Went to Winslow to “stand on the corner” and decided to eat at The Brown Mug Cafe. The friendly server chatted us up and told us that this is the second oldest restaurant on Route 66, owned by the same family since 1958. It was clear before we even ordered that the locals LOVE this place. After enjoying a tasty Navajo taco and some regional Arizona food, we understood why. This cute hole in the wall is a must visit if you find yourself passing through town. Hope this restaurant is around for generations to come!
