When I went through Winslow on my honeymoon in 1973 we ate in a little Mexican cafe and had our first sopapillas there. This Brown Mug Cafe is a direct descendant of that cafe and owned by the same family. What a thrill when my waitress told me this! Nice small town cafe with great staff.

I love the Navajo Taco! Service is superb. People are friendly, aim to please and food comes quickly. The dining room is usually full. Never had to wait though. The prices are very reasonable and plates are full.

Same family has been running this restaurant for 3 or 4 generations. The tacos and sopas are my favorite. They keep a clean kitchen and happy atmosphere, that combined with some of the best food in town makes Brown Mug 5 stars.

Greeted with a lovely smile. Free Plate of chips & salsa! Buy a breakfast get one free? Coffee/Tea included, seriously how are you making any money? Comfy cafe/diner style atmosphere, if you’re looking for ambiance this won’t be for you. However, if you appreciate small business, good food & hospitality this is it!!
