Food: This is one of the few Vietnamese restaurant that serves their version of Canh Chua (traditionally made with catfish/fish, but this doesnāt have fish) they have options of shrimp or chicken (I opted for shrimp and there was lots of them!). They call their āHot Pot Soupā Itās a Vietnamese sweet and sour soup made with a tamarind base with vegetables (bac ha also known as Taro stem, a delicious vegetable stem that soaks up the flavourful soup - Iām making a note of this because Bac Ha here can be expensive, and so to serve it on a regular menu should be noted), pieces of pineapples, bean sprouts and tomato, with fresh herbs. You have an option for rice noodles or traditionally rice. I chose the rice option. To accompany the rice, we orders the ātraditional fried rollsā it was crispy and the filling was delicious! Order their homemade ice tea! Itās delicious.
The service was wonderful. The staff kept coming back asking how things were and if we needed anything. Helpful with the menu and was delightfully attentive.
The atmosphere is simple, clean and cozy.
I canāt wait to come back and try other plates in the menu. Itās worth the trip to Abbotsford.

The New Saigon has been an Abbotsford staple for as long as I've lived here. Not only is the food always fresh and tastes wonderful, the service is always above and beyond. I came in not feeling well today to make a quick pick up, and the server noticed I didn't feel well and offered me a tea, on the house! Fantastic food. Fantastic service. A must try for anyone who loves good food.
