I met a friend here on the afternoon of December 27th and, unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing.
It wasn’t very busy when we arrived. I ordered a drip coffee and my friend ordered a hot chocolate—simple orders. We sat and chatted, assuming the drinks would be ready quickly, but after about 20 minutes of waiting (for a drip coffee!), we finally got up to check. When I asked, the barista behind the counter responded somewhat rudely and said our drinks were “next,” yet it still took another 5 minutes.
I’ve honestly never waited that long for a drip coffee, which is usually instant, so the whole process was very confusing.
To add to that, my friend’s hot chocolate was randomly made to-go, while my coffee was served in a mug, even though we ordered together. When my coffee was finally brought out, it was lukewarm. I then awkwardly walked around the café looking for a milk and sugar station, only to realize there isn’t one—you have to ask staff for milk and sugar, which no one mentioned.
Another issue: I ordered the largest size coffee based on the paper cup sizing, but when it was poured into the mug, it was noticeably much smaller and definitely didn’t match the size I paid for.
Overall, the long wait, unclear process, inconsistent service, and attitude made this a frustrating visit. I really wanted to enjoy sitting and catching up with my friend here, but the experience fell short.

I came to the Polly Fox for dessert and better coffee. I ordered the Cappuccino and the Vegan Apple Fritter. The fritter was very crunchy and flavourful. The cappuccino was strong yet very good.

When I came there a second time, I have ordered the Avocado Waffle from their breakfast menu that has recently introduced. I also ordered it with the Spanish Latte. The latte was fantastic and did not require sugar for flavouring. The waffle was soft and crunchy like good waffles should be while the avocado was surprisingly good on the waffle. The Hollandaise sauce that came with the entrée on the side was exuberant.

The establishment was pretty modern looking with mild lighting and had a very relaxing aura to it. Even on a Sunday, it was not too busy or crowded when I stayed there.

The Polly Fox is an amazing café best enjoyed during breakfast or brunch, so you could try their breakfast menu. Even then, their coffee concoctions and unique baked goods are worth trying. Highly recommend this place.

I stopped in for a drink while waiting and was very pleasantly surprised. The espresso was amazing (hands down the best gingerbread latte I’ve ever had in my life). The espresso was rich and flavorful, and you could really tell the beans were high quality.

The service was positive and welcoming. The staff were kind and friendly, though not super proactive with recommendations. Since it was my first time visiting, that made things feel a little stressful at first, especially because they didn’t have drip coffee available, which I had originally planned to order.

That said, the space itself more than made up for it. The vibes were perfect for the season: a cozy, joyful holiday atmosphere that felt like a warm “welcome home” for the holidays. The café was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. I also really appreciated that the space was accessible, which is great to know for future visits if I bring friends with disability needs.

Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I’d definitely come back. My only wish would be that drip coffee was available all day (especially if the beans are as good as the espresso was in my latte).

The food is fantastic, the coffee is alright, the hours are really inconsistent though. Easier to go to a place where the hours are accurate.

Food and coffee is amazing, but the service is extremely slow, I’ve had to wait 20-30 minutes for a basic breakfast sandwich on 3 different occasions.

A pleasant quaint spot offering a wonderful selection of gluten free goodies. The apple fritter, cinnamon bun and nanaimo bars were absolutely delightful, my fiancé and I truly enjoyed this spot. Unfortunately staff was less than subpar, they speak to you as if you're an inconvenience to them, belittling tones, taking orders wrong and when you correct them, they roll their eyes. The girl specifically was bad for this, the man who was working with her was giving off the assumption hed rather be anywhere else. The location of the desk where you order is a very tight space next to 2 bathrooms, which are too close to food for my personal liking as when staff come to you with your food, they pass by the doors as someones just coming out.

I myself ordered the classic benny, excellent food, however the hashbrowns were excessively salted, when i asked for water the staff again acted inconvenienced. The poached eggs were over cooked and not runny.

We will be returning for the food, however attitude needs work.

Stopped by to get some goodies in the morning and the staff was very cheerful and welcoming. He greeted me right away (even though I wasn’t near the counter), and attentive to my order.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. They have amazing delicious food options and friendly staff :) Unfortunately, Abbotsford is quite far from me, so I dont get to visit all that often, maybe ever few months, but my vote is for a new location in Vancouver!

We absolutely love The Polly Fox! I'm gluten-free and so appreciate knowing that I'm not going to accidentally get glutened! They make the best gluten-free apple fritters I've ever had.
I had the eggs benny for breakfast yesterday, and love the amount of dill in the sauce. Can't wait to visit again.
