I wanted to share an issue I experienced today at Tong Fei Restaurant, 7‑33324 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford.
About a month ago, my father purchased a $50 gift card for me as a thank‑you while I was helping him through an illness. We have been regular customers and enjoy dining at this restaurant.
Today, August 5,2025, I visited and ordered an $11 lunch combo. However, I was told that the gift card would not be accepted, as the restaurant has new ownership as of August 1, 2025.
I was quite surprised, given that the card was purchased so recently, and I was hoping the value could still be honored.
This is poor. We have been coming here for years and so do our friends. We will do our best to spread the (negative) word

Absolutely disgusting we’ve been ordering from this place for god knows how long. We order for pick up and when we get home to dish out we find a hair in our fried rice and the pineapple was absolutely FERMENTED. You could even smell the rotten smell from the pineapple that’s in the sweet and sour pork 🤮🤮🤮

Disgusting watch out they serve expired product and when I call them they played it off and said next time you come we give you something different hahaha I said there's no coming back eaters beware!!!

Very disappointed. We got three combo meals and were forced to pay the tip to preorder (online), upon picking it up, they wanted more tip. We get to the meals and they tasted like they were old or stale, the sweet and sour pork was dry and hard and chewy. It was gross. I will never go here again and that's upsetting I remember the food was quite good. :(

Food ordered does not match the images at all. I can understand it says it’s for reference only, but it should be SOMEWHAT like what’s pictured. I ordered the dish based on noodles and meat and vegetables being shown in the image. I got a strictly noodle and meat dish. Not impressed at all, especially for the price. Food tasted fine, was very basic though and not what we wanted at all. When we called they simply said it was basically our fault for assuming it would come something like what was imaged; and blamed it on a third party company for the website. Images attached of what I thought I was getting vs what I actually got.

Probably one of the worst places ive been to. Went for lunch food tasted like stove gas . No music on no tv just a dark dirty room, guy running it didnt even ask how the food was its like he knew its gross. Only good thing was it was only $10 i guess you get what you pay for

I had the war wonton, it was great. Broth was immaculate with filling portions. It seems to be one guy working until around 4.

I've ordered from Tong Fei many times. Normally, the food was top quality. I chose to order from them tonight because I got home so late. The chicken was so over cooked, I couldn't even chew it. The pork was just marginally better. The chow mein was very salty. Quite disappointing. I won't be ordering from them again

Used to be the best Chinese food in town but has sadly gone downhill. Prices are ridiculous now. Used to drive from Maple Ridge for the food. Perhaps there is a new owner who doesn't know how to cook? Such a loss!
