Excellent. We ordered twice this week. Definitely an improvement from what it was a couple years ago. Terrific won ton soup and vegetable chow mien. My husband enjoyed the chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce.

I came to check the reviews as I have been getting food there for the past 2 years but last night the food was different not as good and I always order the same dishes. I said that there must be new owners and apparently that’s true! I won’t be buying again. I asked for wonton soup and got some other soup with wontons, chicken, beef and shrimp $33! The sweet and sour pork was dry barely any sauce no pineapple. The ginger beef had barely any sauce. The beef chow main was good. Just when you find a good place it’s sold!

Didn’t want to cook for the family tonight so ordered some combo dinners. It was ready very fast, and when we opened our containers at home I couldn’t believe the amount of food, full to the top and heavy! I got six deep fried prawns which is amazing, and 12 pieces of Sweet and Sour Pork. Prawns were hot and crispy with sauce on the side, the S&S Pork had good flavour and texture, and the Chicken Chow Mein was also
good. I don’t eat out, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Wishing you all the best, and we will see again :)

We decided to give the newly owned Hong’s Garden in Agassiz a try and ordered a dinner for four. Let’s just say… we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

First off, the portions were tiny—way smaller than they used to be. Even the containers were downsized! And for $95, we expected a decent amount of food, but instead, we got mediocre-at-best quality and portions that wouldn’t even satisfy two hungry people, let alone four.

I get that times are tough with inflation, but this felt like a straight-up rip-off. Agassiz deserves better, and if the new owners of Hong’s Garden want to keep customers coming back, they’ll need to step it up.

Has anyone else tried it since the change? Curious if others had the same experience.

Let’s hope they listen and do better! 👎

Ordered food to go. Was ready in 15 minutes. The portions were huge, and everything tasted delicious. I called the restaurant and explained to them that we will be back.

My husband and I love supporting family businesses. We always visit when we’re in the area. We’re always greeted at the door and the food always hits the spot.

Ordered food for a baby shower and it was super delicious! Had to make sure there was no peanuts since there was a peanut allergy and the owners made sure there was no contamination. Service was excellent. Would order again!

Employee said they would phone 10 mins prior to pick up. No phone call, and after 2 hours I showed up and found they got my number wrong. Cold food and they would not provide discount for the employee’s mistake. Small town. Rude.

Oily, flavorless, and I think our beef had gone bad. Tasted horrible. Noodles were mushy and old. Won't be back. Shame since we've ordered several times and it's never been this bad. Dragon fried rice is by far the superior Chinese option in Agassiz.

We had never eaten here and wanted to give them a shot! (Party of 4) we arrived at 7:05pm for dine in, and the restaurant closes at 8 pm. They turned us away, unfortunately I will never try this place again as return customers are earned on experience! Definitely not a good start sorry!

On a cold Sunday we stopped into Hongs Chinese restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the egg foo yeubg was. Came out nice and piping hot too. I'd go back for that.

I had Wor Won Ton and a Spring Roll. Spring roll was extremely greasy, expected, but not that much. It also had too much Chinese 5 Spice for my liking. The soup base was very good, but the Chicken & Shrimp were tasteless. As for the Wontons, they were overly large and the only flavor was the 5 spice. The interior was pretty disgusting, with filthy carpets, stacked boxes taking up some of the booths and a plastic runner that has seen better days. That needs to be replaced before the counter person/server seriously injures herself, as I witnessed an almost catastrophe.
