We had high hopes for this restaurant since we've seen it many times and it was always crowded which is usually a good sign. However, we went this morning to try it out for the first time and will likely not be back.

It was busy so we understood there would be at least some wait. We ordered our food fairly quickly once we got in and then we waited. And waited and waited. We were originally told it would be over half an hour which was fine. We ended up waiting 75 minutes from the time we ordered our food to when we received it. We were told they were training in the kitchen so everything was taking longer. At one point, one of the servers came over and told us she had actually forgotten about us but our food would be next. It was at least another 25 minutes after that to when we got our food. The hash browns were burnt in multiple spots, the meats were very greasy, leaving a puddle of grease on the plate, the eggs my son ordered were undercooked (asked for over medium but got over easy), and the coffee was definitely not the best. We never git offered more hot water for our tea and never got more cream for the coffee.

When we asked for the bill (twice) and one of the servers brought it, she never actually showed us the bill, just told us the total and handed over the debit machine. We thought maybe with the long wait and the fact that they admitted to forgetting about us, maybe drinks or something would be discounted, but no.

We wanted to love this place and make it a regular spot while in town but I doubt we'll ever go back. We even overheard some other conversations in the area we were sitting that lead me to believe they could use some extra training in all areas.

Super Cute! Staff friendly and amazing service. I'd say service the way it should be and use to always be. Generous portions and the breakfast is like good quality home cooking. Definitely not for someone looking for a sophisticated brunch, more like a great home cooked meal and prices are more than fair. Highly recommend. No photos, looked so good we just dove right in. Lol.

ABSOLUTELY UNREAL — A Must-Visit in Agassiz!

If you haven’t eaten at The Horn of Plenty in Agassiz yet, stop what you’re doing and go. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a full-blown culinary adventure. The menu is MASSIVE and downright jaw-dropping. Where else can you find everything from fluffy omelettes and home-style bennies to kangaroo, ostrich, and elk burgers? One minute you’re in classic Canadian comfort-food heaven, the next you’re globetrotting through flavors you never imagined you’d find in a cozy little café. Every plate that came out of the kitchen looked like it belonged on a foodie Instagram feed—big portions, bold flavors, and not a weak dish in sight.

But the food is only half the magic. The real secret weapon here? Angela, our server. Let me say it plain: she’s the BEST server I’ve ever had, anywhere. Funny, lightning-fast, and amazing with kids—Angela doesn’t just bring you food, she brings the whole experience to life. She had us laughing, kept coffee cups magically full, and made us feel like family from the second we sat down. She’s the face of the business, the heartbeat of the room, and the reason people walk out the door already planning their next visit. Honestly, if restaurants gave out MVP awards, Angela would have a trophy case.

Between the epic menu and legendary service, The Horn of Plenty isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to remember. Whether you’re local or just passing through, do yourself a favor: stop here, order something wild off the menu, and hope you get lucky enough to sit in Angela’s section. You’ll leave full, happy, and probably telling everyone you know to check it out.

we stopped here for breakfast. The food is very ordinary, there was no apple pie, there was one with apricot, but it was not the same) the hosts are very friendly, the atmosphere of a small cozy town, but unfortunately that's all, it's a pity, almost

Was just visiting nearby to check out the Catholic Shrine nearby and happened to stay for brunch with my group. Randomly googled restaurants nearby and was impressed with the reviews of the cafe. So happy to have come in. We highly recommend the burgers especially the Elk, Kangaroo, Buffalo, and House burger. Absolutely delicious. Best burgers we’ve had outside metro Vancouver and meat was not greasy at all!

Cod bless this place!!!

If you’re ever cruising through town with a craving for something deep-fried and divinely sent, do yourself a favor and pull into Horn of Plenty. Or better yet—screech your tires and make it dramatic, because these fish and chips are worth a full movie entrance.

The fish? Golden. Flaky. Perfectly battered like it just left a spa treatment.
The chips? Oh, the chips. Let me tell you: my mom nearly wept.

She took one bite, closed her eyes, and whispered, “Now this is how they used to make fries in the good old days.”
Then she got emotional. She said something about diners, grease that tasted like love, and when fries were actually potatoes instead of those frozen shoelaces pretending to be food. You know it’s serious when nostalgia shows up mid-meal.

The portion size? Generous. Like, “bring stretchy pants” generous.
The flavor? Somewhere between “how is this legal?” and “I need this every Friday until I die.”

If you’re into sad, soggy fish from a chain restaurant—don’t come here.
If you want to taste joy in edible form—Horn of Plenty has got you.

10/10. Would fight a seagull for another bite.

Quite small but very good food and service for a reasonable price. I have had both breakfast and lunch here and never been disappointed.
