Another old time business in town that has sold and gone downhill substantially. Their donuts and sandwiches are still very good, but expensive for what they are, and service is lacking.

This place has gone downhill since the new owners took over. The ham and cheese sandwiches they sell are made with stale cheese buns and the meat tastes old. They changed the recipe for their long johns and now fill them with butter cream instead of whipped cream. Anyone who bakes knows that buttercream doesn’t belong in a long john. They only changed the recipe so the donuts would last longer and they wouldn’t have to make them fresh every day. When asked the cashier at the front told us everything was made in house, despite the fact that you can see the ingredients list from the store they bought the baked goods from. This bakery has been a staple in armstrong for decades so disappointed to see the new owners completely run it to the ground. Don’t go here

Just bought donuts today. They were not good at all. Day-olds mixed in and sour whip cream.

5 ☆ BAKERYI bought nice sourdough loaves. I stayed for a cherry Danish and a fresh cup of coffee.I was happy to support a historic bakery in Armstrong. Did you know that the building has been there and a Bakery for over 100 years? In these tough times for many small businesses struggling with lack of staff and higher costs it was my pleasure to buy from a dedicated little bakery.I'll keep supporting The Little Guy anyday.

Well, the bakery is open again which was exciting… until we tried the food. $7 for a sandwich that smelled of old cheese (obv whatever cheese they sprinkled on buns before baking had spoiled, had a gross strong smell to it, disgusting), the danishes were dry because they lacked a glaze as well. Will not be coming back and sticking to overpriced askews food because its at least edible. VERY disappointed and feeling almost ripped off.

Ever since the new owner took over the place has gone downhill, half the time they aren't even open, and when they are open, they are out of almost everything, also looks like they fired most of the employees I was familiar with and were super helpful, new ones not so much.

When we walked into the bakery on June 16, 2023, the new owner introduced himself. We ordered six oatmeal cookies, two apple strudels and two blueberry oat muffins. He used a handheld calculator to reach a total. I asked for a receipt but he didn't know how to use the cash register. I frowned and expressed my disappointment. We waited while he wrote a receipt by hand. When we got home and tried the food, we were disappointed. The strudel was dry and crumbly and the apples were from a can. The muffins were also dry and had no flavour. The cookies were moist but overly sweet.

I just moves to town. I have been drawn to this place twice in a week. Each time I was served by different young women. And each time I left 'feeling' like my business mattered. The demeanor of both was positively infectious. The products are delicious but I would go back just to interact with each of these woman. I don't often experience this level of service thankyou ladies
