We loved it! Drove from Vancouver Ferry st 6:00 a.m and tried to stop for lunch several times and places were closed? Found this one finally at 4:00 and had a delicious cheeseburger and fries. Had food within 5 minutes, hot coffee served immediately and he was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

A sweet old man prepared our old-style burgers with calm, love, and patience, taking his time as if your grandfather were cooking for you.
That’s the kind of place this is.

My buddies and I were on our 11th annual road trip and stopped in Ashcroft to gas up around noon. We were hungry and decided to try this cafe out. We were all impressed with the food.
Sam mentioned trying the fried chicken, and oh my, that was one of the best fried chicken I've had the pleasure of devouring in quite a while. Would definitely recommend the fried chicken.
Sam was quite the friendly character and made us feel like locals eating there.

Really really well priced! Super friendly fellow running the place as well. I had a chicken Caesar wrap with fries and a drink... It was absolutely awesome.. Lots of chicken.. Fries are real. NOT FROZEN! I had my wrap and fries and a drink for 15 bucks!! You can not beat that price AND it was great! Smelled so good inside, I think he did a buffet as well! They have a take out window as well and he brought me out my food!! I highly recommend and I absolutely will return. I will drive off my route to go there for food in a heart beat!

We arrived just as the diner was opening on a Saturday. The owner, who I imagine is Sam, was very friendly and asked where we were from and where we were headed. He was a sweet man. The three of us all ordered cheeseburgers with fries. This was my second visit and both times I was too full to finish my fries. It was a shame because I loved them. The burgers were good.
The dining area is basic. But Sam's friendliness made up for the lack of atmosphere. The restrooms were grungy. The toilets and sinks were fine but the walls around the door of the men's was quite gross. My sister said the women's needed a thorough cleaning. Other than that it was a great meal.
Ashcroft is a very short drive off of Highway 1 and it's a pretty little town.

Had a very delicious chow mein with chicken. Staff was very friendly and food was great. Restraunt was empty, and I'm not sure why other than it was a bit early and mid week. Prices were very reasonable and a good size portion.

I come from a family of chefs and bakers, and so I am picky about eating out. I was completely satisfied with eating here. The burger was better than I expected and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the center without all the typical grease. Definately eat there again.👍🏻👍🏻

This space is large and has a patio. My lunch was a beef dip sandwich which was served on a whole wheat bun with home cut fries. Very clean and the food is delicious.

We stopped for lunch at a small diner in the Thompson Country region. The restaurant was empty so we could place our orders immediately. We planned on eating outdoors and found some benches in the shade of trees.
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to bring plates outdoors, so we had to ask for takexcellentprisingly, the food quality was very good. The chef even came out of the kitchen to talk to us, and he was very nice.
The picture doesn't do justice to the quality of the food, but we had to pack it as takeout.
The only thing we didn't like was that we were told the restaurant would sell ice and their bags would be much bigger than the ones in the supermarket, costing $4 each.
We decided to give the restaurant additional business and returned to purchase ice. However, in the 30 minutes which had passed, the price had changed to $6, and the bags were smaller than the regular bags sold at every grocery store and gas station.
Cheers!

Me and my mom went here for a burger. We ordered and were seated in less than a minute, and the food was amazing. Sam was so kind, and it was reasonably priced too. I wish Sam good luck on his retirement, and I really enjoyed eating there.
