It's very delicious well made Szechuan Chinese food. The only issues are that the portions are modest and the few servers on duty have to work very hard to the point that they doesn't really have much time to chat or help deal with customers issues. Also the place can become VERY busy since it's one of the only 2 restaurants inside Barkerville, the other restaurant in Barkerville is a Western food restaurant that requires a reservation and there are few if any...
We were disappointed, we had heard the food was delicious but for us, it so was not. May have been because it is near the end of season but I swore my veggies were frozen, they put gravy on my almond chicken? We also felt, totally unwelcome by our waiter, never checked to see if we needed condiments or anything. Wouldn't recommend, there are some other great choices in Barkerville!
The food was fantastic, as it is any time we have gone. The lady who is in charge of the kitchen was sharing how frustrated she gets with people when they think they can have it all in 20 minutes to make the show. Good fresh food takes a bit of time. We love it here and hope to get back.
