Ordering takeout from China Moon in Burns Lake felt like expecting a warm embrace, but receiving just a polite nod. While the aromas were inviting, like a lantern’s glow, the flavours didn't quite live up to the promise, leaving the experience more ordinary than exceptional.
The fried rice was a canvas that seemed to have lost some of its vibrant colours, with the grains slightly overcooked and blending into the background instead of popping with flavor. And the spring rolls? Golden and delicate, but after the journey home, they had lost their crispness, more soggy than satisfying—a hidden treasure that, unfortunately, stayed hidden.
China Moon’s takeout felt more like a dimmed version of what could have been a rich, flavourful experience, leaving me wishing for more light from this lantern. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the shining beacon of Chinese takeout I had hoped for.

We ate there today after a funeral, we had the special of fried pork & chow mein. I kept searching for some kind of vegetable in the chow mein, but found only three or four slices of cabbage. What a disappointment, I could have ordered just noodles 🙁 my husband’s cup of tea was lukewarm water and only about 1/2 cup! I suggest you pick up the quality because word can get around very quickly.

I gave overall Two stars and that’s being generous. Small portions. Very greasy egg roll could’ve dumped the oil off the plate. Have never seen actual batter deep fried pork. Normally a light dusting of corn starch. Hard pass do your selves a favour. Waitress was nice about the only positive.

Food was pretty not bad, restaurant could use some updating, when they charge 160 for an order like the one we had. That's outrageous. Probably one of the more expensive Chinese restaurants I've ever ate at. Save ya coin and eat something regular. Ya want Chinese go to a bigger city.

Its amazing how a great chinese restaurant can go downhill through the years after covid , ordered a combo plate , eggroll and wonton soup. Eggroll was a gob of grease , sweet n sour pork (yuk) , been on the stove way too long, vegetables no flavor without soy sauce , and chowmien ? Just noodles thats it!!. I would have preferred cup o noodles same thing. A real shame , shouldnt even be in business. If thats the best in Burnslake , they are in trouble! Haven't eaten there in twenty yrs and i will not come back!
Is the best food I had in that town , My grandparents and my mom and my rest of my family love to go there everything was authentic great food and the prices were awesome ????????
