MVP Pub and Family Restaurant

My wife and I were staying in Campbell River for a little get away and found this hidden gem. Stopped in for a late lunch, had the quesadias and pretzel bites. The food was so good. There was a young server and another with a German accent that were ontop of things, very friendly, and very customer orientated, can't say enough good things about those ladies. We will be stopping in again next time we are in town. A must go to pub.

Best part about college hands down! Looking forward to coming back to Campbell River to study here. Staff were always friendly and food was always good. Reasonably priced, and a good time.

Party of 3. Service was pretty slow and lukewarm.
Beer was flat, and expensive.
It took 45 minutes to turn around 2 $18 orders of wings and fish and chips and the place was half empty.
Wings were tiny and severely overcooked. Looked like maybe they had been cooked from frozen. Fish was very greasy, bland. It looked like it was a good size, but had barely any fish, was mostly batter. Fries weren’t fresh, and were undercooked. Coleslaw had no flavour, definitely out of the bag.
There’s either no love in the kitchen or untrained ‘cooks’.
No one did a food quality check. We sat with empty plates in front of us for about 15 mins until I got up to pay the bill.

I wouldn’t waste my money here again, and I’m fairly certain these positive reviews about “amazing wings” are fake.

My first time at MVP. Enjoyed the soup and salad. Shared really good potato skins. I will be back.

Iv only been twice the first time I got the club house it was really good real chicken and seemed like house made bread.
The service was on point both time the waitress noticed I finished my drink and asked if I'd like another right away no waiting.
Would definitely make this place a regular stop for a beer.

Ordered 2pc fish and Chips, awesome size pieces of fish for the money. Was a little disappointed in the wings. Got 10 very small wings for $18 plus taxes, so $1.89 per small wing. Sever was awesome and vibe seemed great.

Food is absolutely excellent and huge portions. Decent price. I’ve had MVP Burger, beef dip and chicken parm sando all were absolutely delicious. The side green salad is beautiful… not greens from a bag.
Now service… walk in , you have to wait to be seated… nobody came so we seated ourselves on the pub side. There was only one other table with customers. The food took a long time but I’m willing to wait for quality goodness. Waitress never came back to check on drinks or refill coffee. When we were finished our meals, the plates sat for a long time. We wanted the bill so we could leave. One of the staff was standing chatting up a customer at the bar. She was 4 feet away from us and totally ignored us. Sure chat to your patrons but do your bloody job first. I will say that the girls were very nice and friendly tho. The food tho… one of the best pub food I’ve had and I live in Vancouver so there’s many choices.
This place doesn’t look like much but I go there whenever I go to my hometown for the excellent food
