Our server was part of a team working together and they were all excellent and attentive and made sure that we were happy. Thanks Kayley and all.
The food was great - small green salad was divine and devoured much to quickly as it was so good! It was an add-on to a really nummy au jus lunch special which I took home so could enjoy on patio with pet but trust me not a spec was shared (oops;)
Was our first experience and we’ll be back
One of the best spots in town, get the chicken wings, chowder or shrimp starters creative menus with a view you can't beat
The beef burger here is super good! I’ve had it a few different times and it’s been consistently yummy!
The Friday and Saturday Izakaya menu by Hiro is a fantastic addition to Quay West & Campbell River! And the front of house manager is so welcoming and kind.
We have been for this menu 3 times in the past few weeks, and will certainly be back again and again.
Our out of town guests joined us one evening, and asked if we could make reservations for the next time they came up.
Some highly recommended dishes:
Beni sake oshisushi, beef tataki, tuna stack, unagi oshisushi, albacore nigiri, chicken karaaage, unagi nigiri, and the quay west roll.
And we tried the donut holes for dessert and they were perfectly warm and crispy, served with a cool gelato.
There’s so much more to try. I highly recommend supporting this Campbell River gem so we can all continue to enjoy these fresh and creative dishes!
Ava was amazing and totally catered to our need as we had 4 dogs with us……
She set up tables and we ate outside in a dog friendly spot.
Food was hot and tasty
We had four dogs with us and and Eva came out and accommodated us with a table on the side of the restaurant. The meals were great.
Thought a restaurant by a wharf would specialize in seafood and that seafood would be fresh- NOT SO. Menu has very few seafood options.
For myself, requested the fish and chips thinking the fish would be something fresh from the wharf that is just outside. Had to pay extra for that (halibut instead of snapper). Batter was oily and not flaky. Almost the typical batter you would find for half the price (24$ for 1 piece). Skin on fries was decent but coleslaw and tartar sauce was in a 1/8 cup cup.
Greeter Lady was pleasant but our server did very little. Extra water we requested for companions that were to show up later, never showed up. Never a checkup whenever water or drinks were empty. Found a hair (blond when we are all brunette) in the fish. Got a response from the manager who offered to change the plate (nothing beyond that), but no check up or apology from our waitress.
For price point, quality of food was mediocre and servers' attitude was leds than that. A fish and chips shop in tofino run by a granny at a cheaper price point was leagues better than this place.
This was unexpected but oh wow the food was amazing and the service was great!
Great food, friendly service and beautiful view.
The seafood chowder and tacos were delicious. Fried Oysters very good.
The deck is a wonderful place to sit, protected from wind, in the sun.
Casual atmosphere caters to many different tastes.
I have travelled lots as a sailor including main and Newport RI and love trying clam chowders
I have to say Theo. Chowder is one of the very best !!! Well done chef !!!

Oh my gosh, our server Amanda was outstanding! So personal and fun. I would certainly come back not only for the yummy seafood chowder but for Amanda’s service. Keep up the great job 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great food and good service. Can't beat the view!!!
I’m not normally one who leaves reviews but this experience warrants one. An impromptu happy hour while in Campbell River found us at Quay West Kitchen for the first time. We were the lonely patrons at that early hour and were greeted with a warm, kind welcome and seated at the best seat in the house which was a corner window seat with a fantastic ocean view. We ordered a couple of drinks and decided on the yam fries and calamari for our appies. I’ve eaten my fair share of calamari and have never experienced the deliciousness that was presented in their very generous serving. Hands down the best I’ve ever eaten. Together with the generous portion of yam fries, it was more than the two of us could finish. We have found our new favourite restaurant to take our guests when we need to impress!
Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and amazing food! The smoked salmon and goat dip was 'da bomb'!
Delicious!
