Last time we ate there I was served gristly charred beef ribs.
They must have not been watching cuz my order got over cooked so bad that anything left on the bone was tough gristly and hard. So instead of throwing it out and remaking it they just covered the whole bones with a lot of bbq sauce to try and mask it. I took one bite and got a mouth full of charred fatty bbq sauce coated ash. There was no meat on either bone just charred chunks. They did take it off the bill. But that gross charred taste was in my mouth and teeth all night.

Servers are friendly and there are several long-serving staff members. Locals are recognized and acknowledged.
The ambiance and location are the primary highlights for Riptide. Live music Thursdays fill the room.
Summer outdoor patio space is a treat along with watching the marina activity.
Sports enthusiasts will appreciate several TV screens from various perspectives.

Had an after work drink with the crew on friday, wasnt prepared for the awedome bagpipe marching band experience! Absolutely loved listening to the players, and the buzz in the room was electric after wards. Our favourite pub for sure!

The food was mediocre. I think I was expecting better being so close to the coast. The fireplace in the middle was a nice touch. The service was good. Our server refilled our drinks without needing to be asked, our meals were brought with all our changes...but I don't think I saw her smile even once. Kinda sad, I hope she's ok. She did her job tho so I'm not complaining. The food was just ok. Nothing grand about it.

I live in Campbell River, I have been to the rip tide 4 times. Each time the service had been sub par. Last night it took 25 minutes for a server to take a drink order. On top of that another 15-20 mins to get our drinks. We debated to just get up and leave. This also happened the last time with a separate server. Food was good despite the 40 minutes for the server to just take our order, it was another 20-25 for food arrival. Atmosphere is great the venue is very nice. Will not go back due to the terrible, slow service.

We stopped in here for dinner our first night in Campbell River and we were a little disappointed. It seemed like middle of the road pub fare for us. The inside is really nice and it's a nice location, but we wouldn't eat here again.

We had a group of 6 with reservations. We were seated immediately and service was great throughout the night. The food was good. I had the blubbery BBQ ribs. The portion size was good and the sauce was excellent.
