I live in Campbell River, I have been to the rip tide 4 times. Each time the service had been sub par. Last night it took 25 minutes for a server to take a drink order. On top of that another 15-20 mins to get our drinks. We debated to just get up and leave. This also happened the last time with a separate server. Food was good despite the 40 minutes for the server to just take our order, it was another 20-25 for food arrival. Atmosphere is great the venue is very nice. Will not go back due to the terrible, slow service.

We stopped in here for dinner our first night in Campbell River and we were a little disappointed. It seemed like middle of the road pub fare for us. The inside is really nice and it's a nice location, but we wouldn't eat here again.

Awesome food. The HaliBites are one of the best appetizers ever. French onion soup.delicious. Cajun salmon burger delicious. Gravy for fries out of this world.

We had a group of 6 with reservations. We were seated immediately and service was great throughout the night. The food was good. I had the blubbery BBQ ribs. The portion size was good and the sauce was excellent.

We wanted to have diner there but we’re refused the access because we were with our daughter. “I’m very sorry but we do not accept kids under 12” we’ve heard. The girl telling us this was obviously not responsible for the policy and also ashamed to tell us that. I could have lied and tell my daughter was 12… but we went eating at the Quay West restaurant without no regret! The food was fantastic there! And the view on the harbour nicer!
Less than average pub food.... blahhh UPDATE: popped in for a visit on Aug 2/2025 and the beer was cold and carbonated (finally!} and the wings were excellent! Top notch service as well!

We went for some seafood and although the location was beautiful and our waitress was good our meal was absolutely horrible and I think we are lucky that we didnt get sick ! We had the seafood platter for $70 /plate and the crab was literally still frozen leaking crab juice as it thawed on our other food. The clams and muscles had absolutely no sauce and tasted like nothing. The scallops were pressed white fish or something but they were not real. I dont know what their other food is like but DO NOT GO THERE FOR SEAFOOD !!
