Quick, friendly, and most importantly tasty. The lovely photos are the cherry on top.
This place is awesome. Our chef made us fresh, delicious sushi in front of us while we chatted. He is clearly passionate about his photography and was keen to show us some of his shots. The tuna steak roll was 10/10. We’ll make sure to come back here next time we’re in Campbell River.
The food was ok. Extremely overpriced for the portion size. Ordered 4 large rolls they were smaller than regular size rolls everywhere else.
If you want a true authentic Japanese chef, takako is your guy. With great food and even better photography skills, this little hole-in-the-wall is definitely worth the visit!!!
We were very surprised to find excellent & authentic Japanese food here. The owner is also an avid photographer of the great naturals around Campbell River.
Imagine if you had a Japanese grandpa who was a chef... this is the kind of food you would get.Tasty, filling, healthy, very reasonable prices.Owner is very nice and friendly he has a great collection of wildlife photos too! It's a hidden gem and easy to miss but you should come check it out!

He made me a few rolls while we chatted, and they ended up being delicious!Owned and operated by a Japanese chef, so it's authentic and personal.
After a long double-ferry journey, my partner and I wandered into Takao's Kitchen having never been before.Takao was very kind, had a wicked sense of humor, and made some terrific rolls. Takao is a wonderful photographer as well, with loads of knowledge of the Valley & its lovely wildlife. we will certainly be back for more great food and great conversation. Thanks Takao!
The Japanese owner is very funny to chat with!
