The Island Grind Coffee and Tea

I wish I’d taken a photo of that beauty. I didn’t go in expecting much but THAT breakfast sandwich was one of THE best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. It was gluten free and that’s why it is a big deal. Ever since going gluten free, I’ve gotten used to having bread that was eh.. which makes the food eh… but, this breakfast sandwich was spectacular! The lady that attended to me, was really kind and courteous and I can’t wait to go back and have my morning coffee from there again. The morning coffee was eh.. only because I had to have it with almond milk. But, I’m used to that.. the breakfast sandwich, my lord!
A special mention about the lady that attended to me, she was kind, courteous and when she took my order and I forgot to mention that I needed it with almond milk. Just before making the coffee, she asked if I wanted it with regular milk. Thank god she did or I’d have ruined my day, because I forgot to tell her I needed almond milk. That was really thoughtful of her. I really wish I’d taken her name. She was attending to the people who were coming in and there was another young lady inside helping her with the orders. I’m sure she’s great too but, I didn’t have much of an interaction with her.

This was my first time in this new location. The tea I ordered was perfect but the service was less than stellar. If someone asks how you are doing, one should respond with something. I wouldn't mind if you told me your day was terrible, but to stand blankly and not say anything is rude and bogus, man.I mean I don't want to be nitpicky but since this is the point of a review, I won't feel too bad. Tea was good though!

Love the local option when we’re passing through Campbell River. The hot drinks and snacks are really nice and the vibe is great.
