We excitedly boated up to take visiting family to The Narrows Floating restaurant, given the positive reviews.
As others have said, it’s in a beautiful spot, scenic and, but the experience was … very difficult.
We made a reservation to arrive early to beat the dinner crowd, which worked well … at first. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant. It took about 5 minutes for someone to seat us. Our reserved table was inside (we didn’t know this would be a mistake until later).
It took at least half an hour after being seated to request and receive our drinks. Another 15-20 to have our orders take. We waited about 45 minutes for our food. During that time the restaurant had filled up and it was so LOUD we couldn’t hear each other speak… it was unbearable. We all wished we had noise cancelling headphones to keep our sanity.
Our overworked server was friendly, warm and attentive, maybe a little disorganized (for example we asked for our bill but she cleared the plates from our table and all other tables before bringing our bill - another 10-15 minutes).
The halibut and chips was almost good, a little dry, good batter, small portions. The hamburger may be of the frozen meat patty ilk. The 2 fish tacos were small with only a small bit of overcooked fish. The menu is huge - maybe that’s why the kitchen is so slow?
Prices were reasonable, maybe a bit high for the portions.
For the first time in …. I can’t remember when we left a 5% tip. Was tempted to leave nothing but we did feel for the server’s situation.
We left disappointed and will not return or recommend to friends for a couple years. Maybe things will improve by then.
In the meantime if you go … make sure to be prepared to take at least a couple hours to eat. Sit outside on the beautiful patio to eliminate the noise factor. Go early ie 5 pm and maybe things will move faster.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch here today! Food was amazing, service was great, friendly and attentive and even brought a bowl of water for the dog with us. I will dreaming about the scallop bites and could have easily polished off about 20 of them! View? Unbeatable!

We had a super experience at this restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and were able to accommodate our group of 12 on our own private floating section. The food was terrific and the resort itself is absolutely gorgeous with a ton of friendly seals who will swim right up to the docks. Superb experience and I can't wait to visit again.

Incredibly rude service. Food was average. Really disappointed as we had friends from overseas visit and was looking forward to showing them this part of the world. Thought this would be an amazing spot to do it..

I visited The Narrows Floating restaurant today, and while it’s in a beautiful spot with great potential, the experience fell short.
The location is truly lovely—scenic and inviting, making it a place you’d expect to enjoy a relaxing and pleasant meal. Unfortunately, the service and food didn’t match the setting.
Our waitress was noticeably warm and attentive with other tables, but with us, her attitude felt curt and dismissive. It created an uncomfortable dynamic that made us feel unwelcome.
To add to that, both my friend and I ordered steaks to our preferred doneness, but they arrived well overcooked—dry and lacking in quality. For a restaurant in such a prime location, I expected much better.
Despite the poor service and food, I still left a 15% tip out of courtesy—though, in all honesty, it wasn’t earned. I truly hope this was just an off day, but I left disappointed and will not be returning or recommending to friends.

Super cool restaurant on the docks. It’s pretty neat to be on a floating dock while enjoying your meal with a beautiful view. Our server was great - very attentive. Food was yummy, although I would try something different next time. Cocktails were average. Highlight of the meal was the shellfish pot - must try.
Update: I came here for a second time with guests from out of town. We all absolutely loved it and I’ll be taking all of our guests here in the future. Whatever the heck they do with the seafood sourdough bowl is pure magic. The only downside to this place is that it’s not open year round. ;) Maybe one day!

Everything was outstanding.
I am from Texas, got married at Anchor Inn Campbell River 8-16-2025 to my fiancee and best friend of 14 years Diane Schwager. She brought herself, her sister, brother in law and myself. Had delicious appetizers, and dinner.

We enjoyed our meal at the Narrows Floating Restaurant. It's definitely unique, being right up at the waterfront.
Clam Chowder was great, salmon was a little overdone for my liking but still tasty.
The Lavender Lemonade cocktail was delicious!

Had dinner at the restaurant. Food was good. Had rockfish tacos and shrimp crab appetizer. Tacos were ok, lacked the tartar sauce zip I was anticipating, shrimp crab butter bun appy wasn't what I expected or what menu specified. Was shrimp salad on a grilled hotdog bun lol 😆. But all was edible. Worth another try for something different. Road out there was a bit rough but not bad for the traffic it gets. The facilities are excellent 👌 top notch as was the service. Can't beat the scenery! Lovely place to hang for a leisurely dinner. Paid $47 before tip for two appys and a beer
Great food, great views and friendly staff
