Great fish tacos. Prompt courteous service. And my waitress brought tons of napkins.

I was very impressed with the service here this past weekend. We were in town for a celebration of life and many of us went here afterwards. We had a reservation for the entire back room, but several of us had dogs. So they set up a bunch in that back room and another bunch on the patio with the dogs just outside the patio. What impressed me is how flexible they were to our group, and making sure we all had a place to sit.
Once we were seated, the service for drinks and food were excellent

Stopped in for a bite while visiting the area from the valley. The atmosphere is great, all the seating is comfy, the playlist is bopping, and the stained glass really gives this place a nice charm. The servers were attentive and friendly. We got our food and basically fell in love, everything tasted like it was homemade with love and care. I suggest getting the Ceasar salad! Come by if you're in the area! It's worth it!

The interior is too dark to see anything, cigarette smoke seems to permeate the entire place, and it was too loud to hear anything.
I was told to wait for a table and that it would only take a few minutes. I waited ten, someone else came in and just took a table, and then I left.
I was really looking forward to giving this place a shot after moving here, but now I know I won’t be coming back.

Our server Taylor was great! Super friendly and made us feel comfortable. She answered a lot of our questions we had about the area. Food was tasty and decent pricing. All around nice hidden gem.

The new owners have kicked it up a few notches for sure. Servers are always great and the customer service is spot on! Have never had a negative experience since the back eddy has taken over. Highly recommend this Castlegar gem.

Avoid this place if you value good service.
My friend and I walked in and initially thought this would be a good spot. Our server, Taylor, seemed friendly and gave us time to decide on our order, which we appreciated. We both ordered mild Caesars with our meals, and when she served the drinks, she told us to let her know if they were too spicy.
After one sip, we both knew they were far too spicy. Unfortunately, it took Taylor walking past our table 3–4 times before we could even get her attention to ask for more pickle and Clamato juice. Before we could finish asking for a larger glass, she had already turned away.
She eventually brought the juice, and our food came shortly after, it was hot and tasted great. However, we were only given one napkin each and no utensils. Again, we tried getting Taylor’s attention with no luck. Another server noticed and said, “She didn’t give you utensils?” before quickly bringing them over for us.
When we were done eating, we waited at least 10 minutes to get takeout boxes. There were only five tables in the entire restaurant, so it was far from busy. Taylor passed by us several times and never once checked on us or asked how our food was.
Finally, I asked the male server if he could help, and he turned around, rolled his eyes, and said, “I’m not your server.” I responded, loud enough for him to hear, “Our server is ignoring us.” Taylor came out of the kitchen with boxes and said, “I’m not ignoring you, I’m just busy.”
I’ve been to far busier restaurants and have never experienced such poor service. A good server checks in, follows up, and doesn’t give attitude when you’re trying to get basic things like napkins or boxes. And even if you’re not someone’s assigned server, a little courtesy like offering to get the right person goes a long way.
The food was good, but the service was incredibly disappointing

Great little pub with some really good food. Great service and Brendan the owner is a great guy. FB is slow to change the name. Check it out if you’re in Castlegar.
Best poutine and burger around!! This is one of our favorite date night spots, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere.
3rd time at this pub. The food, seriously is like a high end restaurant. Our favourite place by far here in the Kootenays!!
Only one waitress on at a busy mid afternoon…she was friendly, and although busy, kept everything moving. Food was fresh and the architecture and glass work is beautiful in there! Recommend for a get together or even a quick drink!
Update, we came back to eat here. It was once again so good! We had chicken, beef dip and burgers. The salad was so nice! I am from the states and we came to Castlegar from nelson. I wanted to get a burger and we decided to stop in and get one to go. Hands down the best burger I have had in Canada. I cannot tell you how flavorful this burger really was. Their fries are so crispy and tasted so good. Thank you thank you thank you I will be back for sure I wish I took a picture of my burger. But we went to a park and sat and had lunch. Next time I will because I know it will just be as good then.
