This was strike three after giving it three chances after the ownership change. Food was cold. Highly disorganized, waited over an hour for food and 20 more min to pay. Many people in the restaurant complaining in real time. Watched two customers walk out after waiting 45 min for their roast beef dinner that was cold. Customers openly joking about food being bad and not coming. One person who ordered a stir fry takeout was waiting more than an hour and still didn’t have their food. I understand you don’t have staff but that is no excuse for cold food, no juice, now not licensed. This was a successful business that deserves better.

We heard great things about the restaurant, so decided to travel to chemainus to try it out last weekend.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We ordered Fish and chips.
While it started well (warmed plates brought to the table) by the time the food arrived, they were stone cold.
The fish portions (3) were greasy, and the chips were anything but plentiful and crispy.
Perhaps we caught you on a bad day? (We were one, of only 3 tables at the time)
You might want to consider some improvements.

Went inside to have dinner with my 13yr daughter. Waited 25 minutes. Group of 4 who came in 15 minutes after us was given a table. We weren't even acknowledged.
So we left and went for Thai food.

Went there yesterday, Oct 26, 2025, we had the special- turkey dinner, chose the large portion ($24 vs $21) . Very disappointed, for veggies, 3 very small deep fried zucchini sticks, thimble full of cranberry sauce, stuffing was a thin fried patty underneath the turkey slices, mashed potatoes tasted like instant. Overall, very disappointed given the high ratings for this restaurant.

we went on a sunday afternoon before going to a play. they were busy and just 2 people working the floor, but they were quick and kind and the food was delicious! we had breakfast, but everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked great. would love to go back and try the lunch/dinner options.

First time trying this place. Went for the Chinese special night. Food was absolutely incredible. You could taste how fresh it was. I was sceptical considering I’ve had wings cafe Chinese food before and it was absolutely terrible and inedible. This was a huge surprise probably one of the best Chinese meals I’ve had in like decades. Service was awesome super friendly and attentive. There’s a reason this place was absolutely packed and people lined up out the door.
Excellent tasting food and service. Prices were par with most but you only get what you pay for.

Honestly, with Bonnie Martens being around so long it’s almost a staple in Chemanus they have to go to. The staff are very friendly. The food is absolutely amazing and one thing that this place is famous for is their war wonton soup. The entire meal was cold, not even lukewarm warm. I understand they were busy but would have assumed that meant the meals would be hot. When we told the waitress she said she was sorry & when we told the owner his reply was “that’s too bad” & walked away.
