Owl's Nest Bakery and Bistro (Chemainus)

I waited in front of the cashier to place an food order, but she was counting money from the cash register and not once did she acknowledge me.
After counting the money the woman wandered around the restaurant to return money to a customer. Again no acknowledgement when I was in front of her.
Again she wandered into the back of the restaurant, for what reason I have no idea.
So bottom line I left this cafe and walked across the street to the Willow Cafe and placed my lunch order within seconds of entering the cafe.
NOT going back to Owl's Nest.

Nice place to stop and the young man serving was helpful and friendly and delivered the food to our table. Others were having what looked like excellent lunches.

Always love stopping for breakfast at the Owl’s Nest because the food is usually spectacular, but our last visit was a real disappointment. We both ordered the bacon-avocado benny. The potatoes were very undercooked, almost like they hadn’t been parboiled before frying, and one of the poached eggs - usually perfect - was hard, the other watery. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day.

I was pleased that as we were passing through with our dog there was a shady outside space for us to enjoy our meal and have our dog with us. They even had a bowl of water out for pets.

I loved it! This is by far the best cafe & breakfast spot in the area! You enter and it smells like fresh baking, the food is delish and they have some gluten-free options too. Coffee was great and served in very cute mugs & food was delish! Overall a lovely atmosphere and great experience! Thank you!
