Delicious! Was a nice discovery on a walk one night. I'll return when I'm in town again.

Not only do they offer the best dining experience in Chemainus, but I’d venture to say that they’re prominently placed relative to all other restaurants on the Island as well.

I’ve been ordering several times from Thai Pinto in Chemainus, and it’s always been a go-to spot whenever I’m craving authentic flavors. My usual favorite is the Som Tam (papaya salad), which I always get at Thai level spiciness. The taste has been consistently good, but I did notice some inconsistency in the serving—before, there used to be a generous portion of papaya, while now it seems more on lettuce, which feels more like a garnish than the main part of the dish.
I’ve also tried their Tom Yum soup, and while I found it had a lot of tomato chunks, the flavor itself was still comforting and flavorful. My meals are never complete without pairing them with their Thai iced green tea or Thai milk tea, both of which are refreshing and perfectly balanced.
Overall, the taste at Thai Pinto is good and worth coming back for, but I hope they bring back the generous papaya portions in their Som Tam to make it even better.

We had prawn Pad Thai and veggie spring rolls for lunch. It was amazing!
Ice cream was offered for dessert. Although it was very good, we were surprised to be charged for it. We thought it was complimentary since it was offered. We will definitely return though!

Discovered this cozy place for the first time yesterday for Valentine's Day dinner. Usually we head to Nanaimo for food that isn't available in Ladysmith, but thought to check what Chemainus had to offer as we were running later than planned. We are so happy to have found this place! Cozy, welcoming, and the most friendly staff we have encountered in a long time! Service was wonderful, food was very quick and so delicious! It was just like we were back in Thailand!!! The menu offers an excellent selection of dishes, something for everyone and spice levels to suit my preschoolers as well as those that enjoy a kick! We will DEFINITELY be returning soon as Thai is our favourite cuisine. We also can't wait to check out the patio once the weather gets nicer. I peeked out the window and the little patio looks out onto a famous Chemainus mural. If you haven't tried Thai Pinto Cuisine, you should head there today!
Vegetarian options: Many things can be made vegetarian!
Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy and sulphite allergy and I was able to find lots of options for dairy free and didn't react to any sulphites in the green curry that I had!
Kid-friendliness: We will be bringing our kids here. They would love the Pad Thai and the spice level will be perfect for them!

Another fabulous meal at Art's Thai Pinto restaurant. We were driving back to Victoria from Parksville & stopped for dinner. So happy we did - everything we ordered was plentiful & delicious. It's hard to beat the Red Thai curry at Art's restaurants (Thai Smile in Qualicum & the new Thai LumLum in Duncan). The quality & flavour of their Thai dishes never disappoint and remain consistent year in and year out. Thank you for your superb cuisine and warm hospitality!!

We ordered takeout, and it was ready in just a few minutes. The total left only enough for a small tip from my cash payment, but it was take out and wasn't sure what to expect... However, after taking a couple of bites in my car on the way home, I had to turn around and give the owner a proper tip—it was that good. I’ll definitely be back every time I’m in town… maybe even make a special trip just for the food!
