The hubby and I decided to have a day date in Chilliwack - couldn't find a place that sparked our interest until we stumbled upon bow & stern. And let me say, 100% super glad we stumbled because the ambiance was beautiful, the hostess and waitress were amazing .. catered to my indecisive needs of moving tables. (Sorry!) And lastly, the food was soo yummy! Best poutine ever we also ordered calamari that was lightly battered. As for our main dishes - he had the braised beef and I had the seafood pasta. All to die for! We will make the hour and a half drive often just to eat here from now on .. can't wait till Brentwood is open, hoping it's just as good!

Some friends and I had come in to celebrate two birthdays during happy hour. Our table was one of two tables on the upper level of the restaurant. Our first server was attentive and kind, but had disappeared after our food order. We had later found out by manager because of personal reasons he had to leave (understandable.) our food arrives and two dishes are completely cold, another barely warm, and a wilted overdressed salad. The two cold dishes were reheated once we called someone over. the food runners had dropped the food off and left without asking us if we needed anything and without any forks at our table. After this 4/6 of our drinks we’re running low or completely empty. You would think with such a slow afternoons we would have been paid more attention to. There was no quality check, and no top up of drinks whatsoever. After our meal nothing was cleared. I approached our new server and explained our bad experience whilst paying the bill in private to save the embarrassment of the server and keep the rest of my party out of it. While leaving the restaurant my party and I were bombarded by the manager in the middle of the stairs “trying to fix our experience” even though it was already done. In my opinion I think this restaurant would flourish with closer attention to detail, and management being able to fix problems immediately (discount off bill, or maybe approaching us before we left the table instead of stopping us and having a weird conversation in front of everyone.)Parking: Not much

Smells like stinky old fry oil and the servers are rude.

Updated Mar. 13/24: Mark was one of the most diligent, hospitable, truly ensconced in his role, servers we have had for sometime. He diligently ensured that my lovely wife was fully versed on the “gluten free” circumstances in the kitchen & made certain that our table of four was perfectly happy. Our food was terrific! From the S&P Wings, to the Honey Thyme Fried Chicken Sliders, to the Lobster Grilled Cheese & The Cajun Chicken Sandwich each dish was unique and flavorful. Oh, and our oysters were PERFECT SHUCKED!! Previous review: A nice space, decent food but we found the bar area crowds the front door area, makes for an uncomfortable entry & exit, not well thought out. We'll return.

Maddie, our waitress was efficient, polite and concerned about how we enjoyed our meal. She didn't Miss A beat. Prices were just a little outside what we Expected. Wine prices, we're just a little high as well. However we did enjoy our visit.

Unfortunately the kitchen staff dropped the ball on our hot plate and after sending it back for being cold sent the same plate back cold as

We were seated later than our reservation as the dinner patrons seated before us were enjoying a relaxed conversation and then rushed towards the end of our meal - no doubt the servers were trying to make up the time so the reservation following us would be closer to on time. Our entrees were superb! The seafood linguine was filled with seafood, as promised on the menu, the Prawn and Avocado Salad was beautiful and very tasty, the clam chowder was delicious and the Mussels & Clams in White Wine Sauce was also well done. We applaud the chef and his team in the kitchen. The drinks from the bar were excellent and the service could not be faulted. We were underwhelmed by the seating we were given for a party of 5 people (a chair placed on the end of a small table for 4) and the birthday desserts were a HUGE disappointment (leaving them behind) and would not recommend them, All in all a good meal and we'll be back!

Not often am I compelled to post a review, but I felt like it was necessary.Ordered a hot platter which was 180$. I knew the place was pricy, which is fine, but I expected an immaculate experience. The lobster tail was severely overcooked. The dungeness crab had black rot on the legs (which renders safe to eat but defintely not appealing). I highly doubt the muscles and other shells were fresh, as I have cooked fresh muscles myself and they were much better. The sauce was mediocre. The butter was unsalted and not even garlic. The platter itself wasn't even as big as it should have for the price. The two of us ate it without a problem. Yes, I ate it all, as I didnt want over 200$ worth of food going to waste. The service was good, besides the host trying to seat us in the most inconvenient spot while the restaurant was about 10% full. I now understand why that place is often empty. Disappointing to say the least.

I booked a reservation online for my hubby's birthday. It asked if there was a special occasion and I said yes to birthday. I didn't know what to expect, and didn't get any recognition of a birthday. Oh well. Right away I liked the low lighting, the comfy booth, and it was really quiet for 6pm on a Wednesday. It seems like there is a party room upstairs so the noise was up there and I really liked the separation. Warm and cozy, not freezing like most places. We had the calamari which is the best I've ever had, not greasy and not rubbery. And it's not on the menu but they make amazing deep-fried dill pickles, watch out they retain the heat for a long time! He had halibut fish and chips and said it was too salty. The portion was quite small. He also had a dino-sour craft beer and really liked it. I had prawn/mango fish tacos which had a raw fishy smell and taste. It wasn't in a hard taco shell but a soft round one.

Such an enjoyable evening. The food was amazing, and our waitress Shelby was the best. She checked on us often and was so bubbly and friendly. We love seafood so enjoyed the hot platter for two. We have been to this restaurant several times now and will definitely go again.
