When I visit my Mom in Chilliwack, we always either dine in or take out at The Capital. All of her friends as well as my Sister love the food. Upon arriving to take out, the restaurant was empty as it was quite early for dinner. By the time I left it was pretty full of what appeared to be regulars as everyone seemed to know what they wanted upon entering. The lady at the front is not the most friendly, asking me to wait in the lobby area by the front door (where there was a tent with two people doing drugs right there), rather than inviting me to sit and wait in the empty restaurant area and maybe offering a tea or water like most restaurants would do. Very clean, the portions are a good size as well. My Mother had Combo A and I had Combo B which is very reasonable in price as well. The prawns did not have a thick batter which was great, the sweet and sour pork was delicious. They give a lot of chow mein with the combos, two people could share. I will have spring rolls next time as I forgot this time!

This is our favorite place, we have been eating here for the last 35 plus years and this is our only favorite Chinese restaurant in town , absolutely highly recommended you will not be disappointed!

Been eating here for years but the last 2 times was it. Portions have shrunk prices raised and the old lady at the counter makes you feel like you’re insulting her just trying to pay the bill. Good luck now a days if you try take out.. they prefer not to offer it. Sad as this once was the best place in town

Our family and I went to this restaurant for the first time on our way back to Vancouver. As a Cantonese, I would never recommend this place to anyone. The food was below average, with a weird taste, and not even close to any type of authentic Chinese food. The service was terrible—no greeting and basically no service at all. We waited 20 minutes for the first dish to be served. The old lady at the cashier was rude and arrogant. I still left a 15% tip anyway for the young lady, who had a much better attitude than the rest.

Usually everything is top notch at this local chinese restaurant. And every once in a while questionable dishes. Tonight was teppan pork, so over fried much it tasted like cardboard. It also included green onion and non visible or taste of ginger.
Orderd take out. Pickup was 20 min. Dinner for one was quite small. Husband was still hungry. Tasted good. But only four pieces of sweet and sour pork. Was disappointing.

I’ve been going here for 30 years. Used to be our favourite place. Dining in definitely gets a larger portion than take out. We get one good meal and then try take out again and it’s just not as good. We have stopped ordering the sweet and sour pork, it’s very consistent with the most grissley meat, I’ve every had anywhere. Used to be so consistently good , but definitely going down hill every year. So sad !!!

We went for an early dinner around 5pm. Capital is nothing fancy, very casual environment and waitresses give minimal (if any) service. Food was ok but nothing memorable. Like many others have mentioned... portions are very small!!
