This placed used to be great, i would say the best sushi place in town. But a massive drop in quality has rendered it one of the worst now. Especially for sashimi and nigiri. What used to be nice sized high quality beautiful pieces of fish is now thin tiny extremely low quality slices… but for the same price as it used to be. Even different style take out containers and presentations has me thinking maybe new owners? Either way the rice was way over cooked and mashy (weve ordered from here twice now with the same results, so not a one time thing) we do a $200 take out order from here once a month. Never again now. The tempura used to be incredible. Actually the best ive ever had anywhere, now its generic and oily.
Another one bites the dust.

Customer service is very disappointing. Questions on menu will not be answered. If it says “smoked salmon roll” you will get crab and avocado in it (obviously). If you want maki roll with salmon and cream cheese, they will treat you like it’s immoral and charge you 15$ (yes, like for a special roll).
Your behaviour will come around for you.

We take our kids here and the servers are amazing and quick which helps ease the pain of going to a restaurant with little ones :)

We love Maru sushi- it’s one of our go to spots in Chilliwack for sushi! There are plenty of plant based options on the menu (though they could be marked a little more clearly) and the food is always delicious. Quick and dedicated service are the cherry on top! We love it here and are back often. Definitely try their yam tempura roll and the inari nigiri..! Those are for sure our favourites ?

Waited for 20 mins outside
And told us they won't serve more than 10 people inside the restaurant
And we have 3 families with 6 adults and 6 children waited outside.
This is horrible service.

I tried this restaurant because a previous reviewer had called it the best ramen in Chilliwack. Sheesh, I hope not. There are a few Ramen options on the menu. I asked my server if all the ramen soups used the same broth. She said they did. I’m not sure she understood what I meant, but going by her answer, I ordered the prawn tempura ramen and the assorted spicy sashimi salad. I’ll start by saying that the ramen was the worst ramen I’ve had. It seemed to be a miso broth with noodles and a salad floating in it. I was not interested in a vegetarian ramen. That is why I asked the server about the broth before ordering. Ramen should be a rich, flavourful, borderline gelatinous broth that clings to the noodles. There wasn’t even the usual soft boiled egg. It’s only saving grace was a few prawn tempura on the side. The soup itself was thin and bland. I struggled to eat it. If you ever order anything other than the chicken ramen, I’m guessing they will serve you this lacklustre vegetarian soup. The sashimi salad on the other hand was quite good. Plenty of octopus, salmon and tuna sashimi tossed into the salad with a good spicy kick. By the end of my meal, between the soup and the salad, I felt like I had consumed a full bag of tossed salad mix?. The ramen is really what I was there to try, so unfortunately, Maru Sushi only gets three stars from this guy.
This was a great place to stop for a bite after a long day of hiking in Chilliwack. FOOD: it was good, and the portions were decent. PRICES: were fair. Overall, recommended

The worst…WORST sashimi ever.
I loved this place. Everything was great previously. Just ordered tonight and the meal is trash. Worst food I’ve ever tasted pretty much in my life. Basically as good as hospital food.
We were on first name terms with the staff, we loved this place so much. This is terrible. Sort yourself out or close.

Restaurantji Recommends
The food was tasty and reasonably priced. However, I was not very happy with the service. I went there before the rush hour, around 6 pm. The restaurant was empty at that time, but they seated us in a 'funny' spot where we were out of their view and it was hard to get the attention of the server.

Came here with a group of friends and sat together (mandatory tip). The sushi they got was tasty. I chose prawn ramen and it was ok but nothing excepcional. The soup is made with fish. Service was very good, all waiters were super amazing. I would come back - for sushi :)

I do not recommend the Vegetable Ramen! It was the worst ramen we've ever had and ended up throwing a lot of it away.
I enjoyed the california and salmon avocado rolls. The yam tempura roll was a bit mushy but still enjoyable.
Vegetarian options: Some of the rolls are vegetarian. Do NOT recommend the vegetarian ramen bowl though!
