Sidekick Brewing

We stopped in here for the first time on our way through town on the recommendation of a local winery. We loved the vibe, the service was great and we loved the beer. We weren’t huge fans of the pizza, but it’s just personal preference- we prefer a thinner crust. Overall we loved the place and would definitely go back and try a different dish!

We stopped at Sidekick Brewing when we were heading back to Vancouver from Chilliwach Lake. We were so hungry and this place met our cravings. My wife got ANDREAS - COPENHAGEN SPICED LAGER and I got BOYLAN SODA COLA along with Chicken Tikka Bowl and Smoky Hawaiian Pizza. I definitely recommend their Detroit Style Pizzas (Karnivore is on my list for next visit), Chicken Tikka Bowl was delicious as well. I recommend Sidekick Brewing to everyone.

This place has everything, and my family can’t wait to go back. We went on a Friday night for dinner and got to sit in the heated outdoor atrium, which has views of the bridge and river. It felt private and yet warm and welcoming for us (we have a three year old and seven year old, who occupied themselves with the card games available from a cabinet in the restaurant). The brewery itself is beautiful—atmospheric with bistro lighting and indoor trees—but where it really shines is its menu. Its interpretation of Detroit-style pizza was absolutely impeccable… and I say this as someone born and raised in Detroit. My standards are high when it comes to Detroit-style pizza, and I thought that theirs was spot on. Fresh ingredients, and it nailed the crust. I enjoyed a bit of their brew (a winter mulled cider), as well as an appetizer with the family (their pretzel breadsticks), but the star of the show was their chicken tikka masala. I know my way around a curry, and theirs was the best I have ever had. Period. Full stop. I have no notes on it… It was perfect.

I have been coming here since they opened. I always come here for girls nights, after a class at Land Studio, and for Drag Bingo every month. I love their sours, IPAs and pizzas. I always bring my out-of-town guests here and recommend it to our air bnb guests that stay with us. The atmosphere on a sunny day by the river is a vibe, as is a dreary winter day by the fireplace. I’ve always enjoyed the service and chatting with the staff and it’s a good sign that I always see familiar faces. I usually grab a 4 pack to take home with me too. Also, having somewhere my dog can come is 👌

Such a cool location and a very cool brewery overall. Great beer, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to chat about their brews. Parking can be a bit tricky in the main lot, but our server let us know there’s underground parking available good to know for next time. Definitely recommend and we’ll absolutely be back.

Had excellent service from sidekick on my first time going. Beer came up slowly at first tho server apologized and gave a free beer without me even bringing it up as an issue. Food was excellent too. Had the ciabatta brisket dip. Thanks and will be back for sure!

I've tried really hard to like this place as I prefer to support local establishments. I am most disappointed with the service, particularly trying to get a seat. There have been at least three instances where I've been told there were no seats left with no offer to add my name to a wait list. Once, I asked to sit at the bar, and the host acted surprised and said okay. Another disappointing instance was when I asked for extra tomato sauce on my pizza and a three dollar surcharge was added to my bill, with no heads up from the server. I could buy two cans of tomato sauce and put it on the pizza myself for that price. I would consider coming back, but only if the brewery got rid of table service. I would prefer to seat myself and go to the bar to get my drinks and food. In that case, I would only risk disappointing myself, which I'm used to anyways.

Great stop for lunch after coming back from hiking near Chilliwack lake back in the summer! Patio seating had nice view of the river.

A delightful find while in Chilliwack, Sidekick Brewing is a simple modern concept of a craft beer brewery. Spaced seating, patio and multiple floor seating. The craft beers, cider and guest taps were tasty. The food was delicious and the brewery was clean and organized. Friendly staff and games, events and in brewery activities posted and available. My guests and I had a great time, but would have loved to visit earlier to enjoy the incredible views offered outside. A BC Ale Trail sponsor. They have free parking and are handicap accessible. Recommended when in area.
