This is the best sushi in chilliwack! They are so nice! Great service! Good food and good prices. I have been going here for 8 years and they are very consistent.

Writing this for awareness and NOT a bad review for the place. This place has gluten-Free options but NOT celiac-friendly. We called this place (after leaving another GF sushi place) to make sure before we drove here and we spoke with 3 different people and neither of them could say yes or no if they had GF options - they didnt know what we were talking about. On the 4th person we gave up asking because it was disappointing.
Many reviews say they have gluten-free options but they are not that recent and our phone call was October 24, 2025 - so not sure if they new new owners or why they didnt know what we were talking about when asking for gluten-free.

The sushi was delicious, staff is very friendly but the interior is extremely dirty. I’ve never been in a restaurant that dirty before. Hope they change that and start cleaning more regularly because it was a little off putting when eating. However the quality of the food still seemed great and did not get sick thankfully

An absolutely lovely experience. The dining room is beautiful, and staff made us feel super welcome. The spicy salmon and tuna dishes were very sweet, but otherwise, the flavors were out of this world... especially the vegan roll and veggie gyoza babe. We'll be back whenever we're in town.

Absolutely the most delicious sushi in Chilliwack, I had the Crispy Roll minus anything spicy. OMG it's just so good, and enough for 2 meals. The Sunimoni salad was a nice light start to my meal, just the right amount of vinegar & sweetness. Friendly service offered with a smile. Great family run business, I highly recommend Sushi Yama.

We were just passing through and wanting a light supper and boy were we surprised.
We thought we’d get a couple dainty rolls and be on our merry way—but nope. These rolls were the size of a four-wheeler tire and packed tighter than Uncle Earl’s tackle box.
We might be a bunch of rednecks, but we know good food when it hits us in the face like a flying catfish. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and made us feel just a little bit fancier than usual. One of us even tried to use chopsticks for the first time (it did not go well).
We ended up with enough leftovers to feed the family back home. 10/10 would recommend—even if you’re more used to baiting hooks than picking up sushi.
Even from my very first visit, when I walk in the store I am greeted by everyone in the kitchen and at the register! Their California roll and spicy tuna roll are spectacular. I order takeout from here often and have had a consistently positive experience.

Wonderful establishment - great tasting food and wonderful cuts of sashimi and the ideal ratio from fish to rice for their nigiri. Ended up getting the Dinner sashimi box and for $31.99 you get everything in the photo as well as miso soup, which I forgot to take a photo of. So for what you pay you get a lot of good quality food. Will definitely be coming back to this family owned establishment.

Very kind service and kid friendly they gave us lollipops for the kids and let the kids feed their pet fish. The kids enjoyed the Katsu chicken because it’s very crispy.

Wonderful place. Fantastic customer service. We had really awesome rolls. They were super delicious, huge and the presentation was really great. The caterpillar roll is so beautiful - a super tasty work of art!!
