The Painted Turtle in Clearwater is a hidden gem. It’s tucked away on beautiful Dutch Lake, one of the most amazing little lakes you’ll ever see. The food is outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and made with care. What makes it even better is the setting: sitting lakeside with great people around you. It’s the kind of place you don’t just eat at, you remember.

Just got home from a 3,000 km road trip through BC and Alberta best breakfast by far. What a gem definitely pin this to your maps as a must stop service was quick food was amazing and view gorgeous. Daughter had scrambled eggs and sausage wife had eggs over hard with hash browns and toast and I had the eggs benedict. See you next time!!

The location was great right next to the RV park, the staff were friendly with only a short wait for a table. The food was nice and good for the price. We sat outside next to the lake and it was a fabulous view.

Extremely disappointed with the mediocre service at this establishment. A group of six of us came in for breakfast one Eggs Benedict and five orders of omelettes with toast and hashbrowns. We waited over an hour before the waitress came out to tell us they only had enough hashbrowns for two plates, and the rest could be substituted with tomatoes. We agreed, but another 15 minutes later she returned to say it would be another 15 minutes before our food was ready.
Meanwhile, we noticed guests who arrived after us being served hashbrowns which made us feel ignored and avoided by the wait staff. After waiting a total of 1.5 hours, my cousin went to speak with whoever was in charge. Instead of an apology or real resolution, he was told they would “take a few bucks off the bill,” and if he was still unhappy, “we could leave.”
This lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy is unacceptable and frankly embarrassing for any establishment. I will never recommend this place, nor will I return.

So I came with a table of six this morning for breakfast. I am a local. I brought my family from out of town to enjoy breakfast at the restaurant. we arrived @ 10:15am. Ordered placed with waitress by 10:30. At 11:00am. The waitress came to say no more hash browns except for 2 orders. We had all ordered breakfast.
So 4 agreed to no hash browns and we waited for our food. At 11:30 the waitress came and said it will be another 10-15 min wait. People who came in after us were getting their food, including hashbrowns because we were watching and getting annoyed as people who came in after us were getting their breakfast and the waitress is now avoiding our table. when we asked when the breakfast will come and she just casually said...well, you can leave if you want. Thank you painted turtle for losing some customers that have been coming here since we've lived here and I will not bring anymore people to your restaurant for the lousy service.

spite the patio being half empty they refused to allow us to order for takeout.

Said they were too busy but we could eat if we sat down and left the dog outside.

Where is the logic? They have picnic tables outside the door for takeout. If they can cook the food on the patio how is it such a challenge for takeout?

Horrible service!

Very disappointing!

Have been to the restaurant few times. It is right by Dutch Lake. Very beautiful scenery, especially at fall. The food they served was very good too. We all enjoyed it.

We had a great dinner here. The food was 4/5 and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. They were full when we arrived so the hostess suggested we wait at the bar for a table. That worked great and we soon had an excellent table with a perfect view out over Dutch Lake. You can’t beat this location.
