VERY POOR SERVICE TODAY! My mom and I had lunch at Hot Shots. She had the baked oatmeal, which she enjoyed as usual. I ordered the Mexican soup and asked for the vegan version, which is advertised as available. Unfortunately, it arrived with chicken and sour cream instead of tofu.
The service was the most disappointing part. The café was not busy, with plenty of open seating, yet there was no one at the register. I counted 10 staff in the kitchen and zero staff at the front where orders are placed. One staff member saw me, turned away, and continued with other tasks and conversation. I stood waiting for a long while, until I eventually had to get someone’s attention to just get me a little box for our leftover oatmeal. If it was busy with a small amount of staff I would understand the situation but there were 10 staff members working. It appeared as if no one working there wanted to be the one to deal with the people and their orders. Owners were not on site at the time.
We’ve been regular customers for years and have always enjoyed coming here, but today felt very different.

Coming from Calgary and staying in Cranbrook, have to say this place is a 10 out of 10! Was not expecting it to be so flavourful and so original! The teriyaki almond salad was lights out! Canadian Swiss sandwich so so yummy… Would come back and anyone going through Cranbrook must stop here for an amazing coffee and lunch!
A must stop if you're in the Cranbrook area, beautiful spacious indoor sit-down space and great patio, coffee snob level coffee was delicious. My barista friend was impressed. Great food, and very welcoming and lovely staff.
