Great covered patio, solid beer selection and a great app'y menu. A great town hub and place for a post-ride beer with the crew!

Consistently good service, food, and atmosphere. Always happy to stop by when I'm visiting Cumberland. *Can't drink beer and dislike cider so I can't review these items

Went on a busy weekend when a big bike race was in town. Got checked on by every single waitress working while waiting for a table. The girls were all super cute, friendly, and working their butts off. Some of the best service we've ever had. Food was delicious, loved all the dogs, and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Potatoes and kebabs were delicious as well as Blackberry Yuzu cider. Service was great! It was a hot day, chilled cider would have been ever better.

CbC is great for a quick beer or a nice meal. Finally IPA is a favorite of mine and the chicken shwarma plate. You won't be disappointed!

Had a phenomenal time in February, the food and service were amazing, a new favorite that we were planning to frequent every time we came through Cumberland... until May 19th, when we had an experience that ruined the CBC for us forever!

May 19th we sat down to dinner on the covered patio, about four other tables were seated at the time. We ordered our dinner, it was fine, full of the allergens we had informed the hostess about, that she had refused write down, but when it came time to pay I tried for 35 minutes to flag down the hostess.

In the time I'm trying to flag down ANY staff, the table next to us is seated orders, eats, pays, and is re-seated!! The hostess walks by and makes eye contact with me three times in the the 10 last minutes we are there. I finally got her to come over to the table and asked if we could have the bill because we had been trying to leave. She gets snarky about it, throws the interact terminal in front of me and refuses to let me tip her at all (which I still had intended to do!!)

Now, I am used to busy restaurants, I have worked as a server, I understand the job is busy and stressful, but this one particular hostess really isn't cut out for it because she's ruined our experience at two different establishments in the Comox Valley in the last 4 days!!! 7 months of date nights up and down the island and some how this hostess is the only person to ruin one... And she managed to do it TWICE in a week at 2 different places.

2 stars because the previous time was so good... There's hope if you don't get bad staff. Wish I had gotten her name so I could make sure she doesnt work anywhere else in the Comox Valley before we eat there.

My previous review stated this was one of my favourite places to go for a beer. My view of that drastically changed today. Got up to a beautiful day today April 27, 2025 and decided to drive from my home in Comox to Cumberland brewing as we have done many times in the past. Upon getting there at 1:15 pm we were met by the door by a very unfriendly, middle-aged woman with shoulder length brown hair, wearing an orange sweater.
She very condescendingly spoke to us and told us in a stern voice. Wait by the door until we get some tables cleaned. A quick scan I noticed eight un occupied, clean tables and two tables with some dishes on them. We waited as she took her time, clean the tables, made several trips with glasses and dishes to the kitchen Completely ignoring us the entire time. During this time, a very polite young lady came up and apologetically told us she was just starting to work there and unfortunately, we would have to wait for the other woman. We waited several more minutes and decided to take our business elsewhere. We have supported this business since they’re opening day, we were there every Friday afternoon for many years and although we don’t frequent as often, we are still there six or eight times a year. When we have visitors from out of town, Cumberland brewing is always one of our stops to show them what a great small town brewery has to offer. I am extremely disappointed by the disrespectful, middle-age lady that we were forced to deal with today. However, this did make us decide to visit Ace Brewing in Courtney for the first time, and we had a wonderful afternoon.

I sincerely hope the wonderful owners of Cumberland brewing will not tolerate this rude and condescending staff member and will return to the fabulous service that we were used to.

Hummus was great.
Great options for a flight. Nitro infused beer is so good!

Great beer and very fun atmosphere. The outdoor seating was warm enough on a rainy December day. The English Bitters with nitro was excellent. Servers were very friendly and kept us topped up. Happy 10 year anniversary!

The beer was top notch, the environment was cozy, and I had a wonderful time. Please make the Czech Pils a staple, it was so crushable.

A delicious IPA and stout and a tasty dinner of chicken shawarma soup, hot chicken pesto sandwich and a truly lovely salad.

Lots of locals. Muffalata sandwich is to die for. The focaccia is delicious.

Absolutely love this place! We make a point of stopping in every time we visit the area and we are continually impressed by the quality, selection and staff. Love it so much we bought the t-shirt! :)
