I visited Stuie’s Diner on a bustling Saturday afternoon, and it was clear from the moment I walked in that this place is no hidden gem—nearly every seat was taken, and both the kitchen and bar were alive with activity. Yet, despite the crowd, I was promptly welcomed and shown to a free table without delay. Within just a few minutes, a server was ready to take my order.
Following the house recommendation, I opted for the strawberry milkshake and strawberry pie with cream. My order arrived within 5–10 minutes, impressively quick considering the packed house.
The pie was a standout—balanced sweetness, a well-baked crust, and a delightfully soft, flavorful filling. The milkshake matched the pie in quality, boasting a rich, creamy strawberry flavor that hit all the right nostalgic notes.
The atmosphere of Stuie’s is one of its strongest assets. It carries a classic, traditional diner vibe, with a clientele that matches—friendly, laid-back, and seemingly loyal. The setting evokes a sense of home-cooked meals and familiar comfort.
As for drawbacks, there were two that stood out. First, the straw for the milkshake was too narrow for the thickness of the drink, making it slightly frustrating to enjoy. Second, parking is clearly insufficient on weekends, which could be an issue for many potential guests.
Verdict: Stuie’s Diner offers a warm, inviting slice of Americana with quality food and fast service, though a few practical improvements—especially regarding parking and drinkware—would elevate the experience further. Still, for anyone seeking a traditional diner with heart, this place delivers.

As a traveller, this is a must stop- a classic 50s vibe, beautiful and funny ladies on service, and a true blue Dawson Creek ol' bird slingin' patties. Great experience, great chats, great time.
Our waitress demonstrated exceptional service when we informed her that we did not want onions, as she inquired about a potential allergy, a practice that all waitstaff should adopt.
This was merely a personal preference, and she proceeded to advise us that the hamburger was made with onions, prompting one guest to opt for the chicken burger, which was satisfactory and elicited no complaints.
The smokehouse burger was remarkably flavorful and homemade, reminiscent of traditional cooking methods, and was well executed. A generous slice of apple pie with an apple crisp topping provided a delightful variation.
Our only grievance was with the poutine, which was served in smaller portions and featured cheddar cheese instead of curds, a disappointment considering the additional cost.
