$27 for two glasses of wine. Not great value. Beautiful setting but not for the price

While the location is undeniably beautiful, Blue Grouse Winery service lacked warmth and hospitality, and my friends and I did not feel welcome during our visit. Unfortunately, this was during my 40th birthday celebration.

Staff appeared disengaged and unenthusiastic, which negatively impacted the atmosphere. Other guests around us also expressed similar concerns, feeling rushed and uncomfortable throughout the tasting.

We had been looking forward to this visit, but sadly, the experience did not meet expectations. None of us plan to return, nor would we recommend this winery for a tasting experience.

The wine from our tasting was lovely. The place itself was nice and Grand but the customer service was unsatisfactory. All of the servers wore a scowl on their faces and gave off a very rude vibe like they were inconvenienced. This reflected on the entire atmosphere of our experience.

Beautiful place, nice wines, service not great. They seemed rather cold and frankly a bit stuck up. Won’t be back

The sparkling wine is unreal

Make a reservation. I honestly think this is a 5 star winery but unfortunately I'm not very satisfied with my visit. The place is quite large and didn't seem very busy, we came in around 2pm and we're a party of 3. I have family that had visited here before and they loved this place so I had high expectations. Unfortunately we didn't know exactly when we'd visit so we just assumed we could drop in for a tasting but that didn't work out for us. The hostess did her best to accommodate us but we could not do a tasting. I did have a chance to have a glass of the sparkling rose which was lovely but I really wanted to try the Chardonnay and at least one of the reds. Disappointing and I don't know if I'll be back.

After moving from the okanagan this was our first Island winery experience. Hostess was very rude and unprofessional, wines were mediocre, architecture and atmosphere was quite nice but sadly the charcuterie board was the highlight with local cheese.

Beautiful! Could have stayed here all day! Very good wine too!

Wine was fine but the ladies who served us were so rude. We were caught off guard by their rudeness towards us. Not sure if it’s because we arrived at 4:00 and they close at 5:00??? Really don’t suggest going there.

After seeing quite a few vineyards across the nation, can safely call this my favorite!

Stopped in here on a while and enjoyed a 'flight' of wines. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. An all around positive experience!

I’ve come to this winery twice now. The first time, the service wasn’t great but I chalked that up to it being busy; would have given it 4 stars. I went to blue grouse again a couple weeks ago and I can certifiably say I won’t be back. The servers seemed almost inconvenienced that we came in for a glass of wine, even though it was over an hour before they closed. Then I went to the counter to buy a couple bottles of wine as we were heading out and she said she *could* make it work, but she was cashing out so it would need to be quick (even though it was still about 15 minutes to close). I ended up buying three bottles, but she gave me the wrong bottle of red and I didn’t notice until I was already home and really had no interest in going back with the amount of attitude I received. The wine is good but it’s not cheap, so this shouldn’t have been the experience we had, nor should we have been sat at uncomfortable patio furniture inside the tasting room. There are lots of wineries in the region, I’d sooner go to one of those, which is a pity because the location and building are beautiful and the wine is tasty.

I had such a great experience at Blue Grouse Estate Winery. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was calm, elegant, and welcoming. The views are breathtaking — endless green hills, perfectly lined vines, and a beautiful modern building that still feels cozy and inviting.
We did a tasting flight and every single wine had its own personality. The Pinot Gris was crisp and refreshing, and the Quill Red had such a smooth finish — I ended up buying a bottle to take home. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to chat and explain the story behind each wine without ever making it feel too formal.
One of the highlights for me was sitting on the outdoor terrace with a glass of wine, looking out over the vineyard as the sun started to go down. It’s one of those places where time slows down in the best way. If you’re anywhere near Cowichan Valley, make the stop — it’s absolutely worth it.

Amazing facility and even better local wine. The charcuterie board was delicious as well. The whole tour experience was top notch. Our guide Brooklynn was very professional and knowledgeable with superb customer service. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.
