The dole whip was absolutely scrumdidlyumptious. Very smooth and creamy with a strong pineapple taste that is not overpowering. Texture is light and airy. It was friendly to my sensitive lactose-hating stomach. I went yesterday and i am going back today for another treat.

Kahuna burger came highly recommended by a few friends on the island so we stopped by while we were in Duncan for dinner. And did they ever live up to the recommendations. First, the service was incredible. Both owners were so sweet and clearly very passionate about their food. The burgers though, next level. Truly the best burgers we’ve ever had. Big, juicy and quality ingredients. Incredible for the price. They also have a special type of packaging so you can have a saucy and messy burger without getting it on your clothes. The packaging creates a pocket for your burger and allows you to keep all the toppings inside. We had the mahi fish burger and the Kahuna burger with a pork add on. The only downside is we are from Vancouver and we will have to take a ferry to get the best burger in BC again. You won’t be disappointed if you visit. It’s a must!

tldr: IF YOU ARE VEGAN/VEGETARIAN, DON’T EAT HERE! I want to preface this by saying I absolutely love Hawaiian food. My boyfriend got the kahuna and loved it! I ordered the vegetarian burger and the bun was good, the first few bites were okay (extremely sweet and the ketchup had a weird, hard texture) but the burger literally SQUISHED to the bottom almost immediately. I’m talking like the entire contents of the burger including the avocado topping slipped out into the wrap by the end. It’s like they scooped up the veggie burger mix and didn’t even cook it…like some sort of taco mix. Except there wasn’t a taco shell to catch anything. I’m very sad I spent $20 on a bun and some mush at the bottom of the bag.

This is the best place for burgers in Victoria hands down. The owners go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after. The outdoor patio is a bonus and it is within walking distance to the waterfront and lots of shopping. I highly recommend checking it out. If I could give more stars I would.

I am watching my burger being made by a sweaty grumpy older man... he was cleaning things/putting things away when I arrived, and he took my order (Kahuna burger), paid, and he went RIGHT to cooking it without even washing his hands. And yes, they were dirty (I saw up close when he brought me my $4.75 small cup of fruit punch). I really REALLY won't be back.
