I did enjoy the bowl of Pho, it was odd having the bean sprouts served in a plastic bag, instead of on a side plate.. I am used to having Thai basil as a side aswell, this is the only place that has not served it with the pho. Also there were little containers in the plastic bag for a small portion of hot sauce and hoisin
I did not order takeout, I ate in
I think it would be less wasteful to just have hoisin and hot sauce at the tables. I probably won’t go back, I’d like to try other places in Duncan. There is very limited seating, as it is quite small
but if you’re looking for something hearty and delicious then this is an alright place.

We discovered Saigon Subs from an annual craft fair in Nanaimo. We bought several of the frozen soup kits that they were selling and were hooked. Whenever we are in Duncan we stock up on more as they make for a delicious, nourishing lunch.
The owners are very kind and friendly. They go above and beyond with service and helpfulness.

Calling this a Large Halifax Donair is a stretch. Very small for the price, no flavor, dried out, not on pita bread. Kind of embarrassed for them that they'd serve this.

stopped by for a quick lunch randomly found on google maps while on a road trip

the pork banh mi is one of the best i've had - the bread was the highlight; soft and crunchy
and the summer rolls was super fresh too

would highly recommend

Not fancy, reasonably priced- fast, fresh and delicious. For eat in, take out or delivery, a fantastic spot for authentic Vietnamese food. I say that just having returned from a business trip to Vietnam and while there I was thinking that the food at Saigon Subs, rivalled all of the places that my local colleagues took me for meals. Try the Pork Banh Mi, the Beef Pho or any of the Rice Plates and you won’t regret taking the time to check out this place. Also, in a hurry and want to take away- I tried one of the frozen Pho Kits, I got the Beef Pho Kit and it was super easy to prepare and really, really good. Family owned, super nice, comfortable place for lunch or dinner.

Worst donair I have ever had. 2 donairs and fried wonton 50$. No lettuce, onion or tomatoes... meat was microwave garbage. Overpriced and garbage. Don't offer halifax donairs to get us east coast boys in if you're serving garbage.

The Banh Mi’s are fantastic. The Vietnamese bread is great, crusty but doesn’t destroy your mouth Pickled carrots are spot on. An unexpected surprise in Duncan.

Love the frozen pho soups! They work so well at home - a great “fast” nutritious meal!
