Currently under construction, but the backside is open for business. Cosy and comfy would describe the small dining room where you can sit and eat your delicious baked goods. You might think this place would sell Germanic baked goods, but there's also a Korean flair to be had.
Parking on the street is limited, but usually you can find somewhere within a block to park.
Prices are high, but the quality of the food is really good... You get what you pay for 🤪☕

Such a cute little bakery with amazing treats and wonderful service! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious—the lychee raspberry danish, the carrot cake, the cinnamon roll, the triple chocolate croissant, and the almond croissant. The service really stood out. The lady helping us was so patient with our kids taking their time choosing, which we truly appreciated. Even though we didn’t order drinks, another lady kindly brought water to our table, without us even asking—such a thoughtful touch! Delicious pastries, great service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

This is the best bakery and coffee I have ever been to anywhere in the world. This little gem is located at the end of an alley, off the beaten track but once you walk in you know you have found an utopia of tastes, smells, visual ecstasy... with great prices!
This place is special!

My family adores everything that Daniel bakes, especially the raspberry lichi pastry, any of the breads and the light and luscious carrot cake. It is a bonus that the coffee is so delicious as well. Today we bought 2 Korean BBQ beef buns, plump and burnished brown, for our supper. My word they are fantastic!!!! So good that we are heading back to the bakery tomorrow to buy more!

Earlier in December I was in Duncan running errands and stumbled across Westfalian bakery cafe tucked away in its own little spot. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but inside was a huge assortment of traditional baked goods and Korean-inspired treats!
By the time I got there (around noon), most of the Korean pastries were already sold out, but out of what I did grab, the carrot cake was the standout; spongy, light, and perfect with my coffee.
Next time you’re in Duncan, pop in and check them out!

Got a whole apple pie, $32 PLUS THE GST. Think the apples were canned, and minimal compared to the thick liquid. Breaking the crust required a hammer and chisel. I had two pieces and threw the sicky sweet rest out. And you had the nerve to charge the GST, so rip off.

Great coffee and treats but music doesn't fit (heavy rock, squealing guitars) and too loud for people trying to chat.
Might benefit from taking down some nicnacs as feeling faded and dated.

This is our favourite cafe. It's especially lovely to sit in the garden during nice weather.

A true gem in downtown Duncan! Westfalen Bakery Café welcomes you with a warm, friendly atmosphere and genuinely cordial owners who make every guest feel like part of their community. The interior has a relaxed boho charm — cozy, artfully mismatched details, rustic wood accents, and plenty of natural light that creates a calm, inviting vibe perfect for a slow morning or an afternoon coffee break.
Their pastries are delightful — fresh, flaky, and clearly crafted with skill and care. The German-inspired selection offers both comforting classics and unique specialties that stand out for their balance of texture and flavor.
The coffee is excellent, too — full-bodied, smooth, and well-extracted with a clean finish. You can tell they take pride in their brewing; the espresso has a rich crema and nuanced notes of cocoa and caramel, while their drip and latte options are equally satisfying.
A place that feels both authentic and inspiring — Westfalen Bakery Café is easily one of Duncan’s highlights for pastry and coffee lovers alike. Highly recommended!
