The apple, blueberry, and rhubarb fritters are absolutely amazing! They are the best I have ever had. I brought them home, and to friends as gifts many times, and they disappear as fast, as they appear. There are so many great baked goods at this Bakery to buy just South of Union Bay. An easy stop just off of the old Island highway.

We came here with an eco-tour group. On the way, we heard from the group members that we wanted to buy this grandma bread. I thought to myself how delicious it could be? Is it worth going all the way to the island to buy it? Is this what you thought when you got off the car? Such a small shop? Although it is indeed cute, the bread and snacks provided also look very ordinary, completely unremarkable, and the bread is still frozen... I was thinking, how can I eat the bread after it is frozen? But with the mentality of coming here, I still bought a pack of small lunch bags to try. At first taste, I just felt that the taste was very old-fashioned. After being naturally defrosted, the bread was not as dry and hard as expected, but very soft. But I don’t know why, but the taste gets better and better. Even when this bread is placed in the hotel room, it is like a fragrance, exuding a faint aroma of yeast, which is absolutely delicious! So on the day we went back, a group of us asked our leading teacher to help us order a large batch of various breads to take away. In fact, her cookies and pies are also very good and have a very natural taste. But for me, who is not very intolerant of sweets among Chinese people, To me, it was still a bit too sweet, so I didn’t buy it.

Definitely worth the stop! Cute little shop, excellent homemade baked goods, and a lovely couple who run it. Don’t forget to turn around and take in the stunning bay view from the porch!

I loved everything about this place. It felt like going over to a friendly neighbor’s house and coming away with some home cooking. Best macaroons I’ve ever had, crispy on the surface and delicately moist inside. The Nanaimo cookie was a dessert by itself. And, the Black Russian Rye bread was perfection. My highest recommendation.
Definitely the best muffin I had on this side of the island.
