Views, drinks and food were amazing. Service was lacking. We had to ask multiple times just to get water. Then we put our order in and later found out the waitress never put in our order or the kitchen lost it somehow. Food and views made up for the service.

Service: The service was extremely poor. The Asian waitress in particular was very impolite and dismissive. We were the first in line, but she completely ignored us and seated a party of four who arrived later. When we were finally given a table, it was the most uncomfortable spot outside, and no one served us water for over 25 minutes. Even when it came time to pay, we were left waiting in the hot sun for nearly half an hour before the check was brought. The treatment felt discriminatory and unprofessional.
Food: The food was no better—it was served cold and tasted stale, absolutely not worth the price charged.
Overall, a deeply disappointing and unpleasant experience. If I could, I’d rate it 0 stars. And seeing other comments, I don’t think we were the only ones treated this way.

We visited this restaurant shortly after it opened at noon. It filled up quickly and outdoor seats were hard to get. Nevertheless we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere inside of the lodge. Our waitress was very friendly, providing attentive service. The food was delicious, though the portions were on the smaller side. It’s a great spot if you’re in the mood for drinks, ice cream, or a light warm meal in between activities. However, if you arrive with a big appetite after an early start to the day, the portions may not be quite enough.

Not very good experience Ordered a $21 poutine only to recieve it cold. Inspite, specifically asking my server that its cold and if they can add more hot gravy instead they took it back and just microwaved it which made my poutine soggy and dry. Also my friend recieved his taco with cold beef on it. On his complaint they just ended up microwaving again.
No compensation or apology was made.

Never in my life have I written a negative review, but here we go. The service at this place was absolutely horrible. We requested to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the view, and even though there were open tables, we were made to wait 15 minutes.
I politely went down a second time to ask if we could be seated outside, and instead of helping, four waitresses were busy chatting among themselves and completely ignoring guests. One of the girls finally addressed us but was extremely rude, making it clear we were an inconvenience simply for wanting to change from indoor to outdoor seating—even though no one had helped us yet!
Eventually, a male staff member stepped in and assisted us, but the unprofessionalism from the rest of the staff was shocking. We didn't receive proper service, no cutlery or plates were provided with our food, and overall, the experience was disappointing.
If you choose to visit this place, go for the food—but don’t expect decent service. The female staff in particular need serious training, or the owner should consider hiring people who actually care about hospitality. At this rate, they’re well on their way to a 2-star rating or below.

The food was delicious. Our meal was expertly prepared and full of flavor. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The dining area was clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the service didn't match the high quality of the food and location. Our server was efficient but lacked any warmth or welcoming demeanor. They seemed disengaged and made no effort to connect with us, which made the experience feel transactional rather than enjoyable. Overall, Cilantro on The Lake is a great place for a meal with an unbeatable view and tasty food. However, the lack of hospitality from our server was a significant downside.

We went on a weekend and only had to wait 5 minutes for a seat outside. The food is good! The service is great! Robin was our server and he was the sweetest and the bestest!!
We were very disappointed with the service during our visit yesterday. Three of the waitresses, in particular the asian girl wearing a cross necklace, displayed terrible customer service -ignoring our table and speaking to us in an arrogant, condescending manner. This was especially frustrating because we were polite and respectful throughout, despite having every reason to be upset.
Shortly afterward, I noticed they treated another group the same way. In that case, an older gentleman in their party expressed his frustration openly. The only staff member who seemed attentive and professional was a taller male server with an accent, who showed initiative and even comped some drinks for the other table.
It’s unfortunate because the location itself is beautiful - cozy, quaint, and right by the lake. This place has the potential to be a five-star destination, but poor service like this drives customers away. While some reviews have suggested retraining the staff, my experience tells me these kinds of attitudes go beyond training - they simply aren’t suited for hospitality work and at least two of the three waitresses need to be let go.
If I were the manager or owner and witnessed this firsthand, I would have addressed the situation immediately, removed at least two of the servers from the floor (permanently), and taken over for the rest of the shift. Sadly, this experience left a negative impression that overshadowed what had been a wonderful day, and I won’t be returning.

We were a group of 4 seated on the patio and service was horrible! Our server came to take our drink orders 15 mins after we sat down. She quality checked our food saying “how is the food tasting so far?” after we finished our food. Why even bother asking at that point? Impossible to flag anyone down for the bill. The only thing saving our experience was the view. Also, $40 for 4 tiny tacos is just ridiculous. Margherita pizza was okay but lacked flavour. For that price point the least they could’ve done was provide decent service.
